# What's the best tip distribution software for labor compliance and payroll management?

Right that the audit trail matters. The thing that bites is which system's hours the tip math is built on. Tip credit and minimum-wage checks only work if the tip record and the time record agree, and when scheduling, time clock, and tip pooling live in three tools, the mismatch doesn't surface until an auditor asks why a server's tipped hours differ from their clocked hours that week. That's the real argument for the all-in-one options in the thread, and the real question to ask the standalone ones: where do your hours come from, and what happens when they disagree?
