# What's the best field sales software for outside reps planning daily routes and logging customer visits?

Hi G2 community, I've been analyzing the Field Sales category for how outside reps plan the daily drive and then log what happened, and a handful of tools handle that core job, and a few tools handle it end-to-end without leaving reps with evening admin. The right pick depends on whether you want pure route simplicity, a lead finder alongside it, or manager oversight built in.

Badger Maps: Built around route optimization, reps lasso accounts into a stop list, get the most efficient drive, and log the visit against the account, with CRM sync so it lands back in the system. It is lighter on door-to-door canvassing, and reps note occasional data-sync limits.

Map My Customers: Pairs quick route building with in-field visit logging by voice-to-text, so the CRM stays current without double entry, and the lead finder surfaces nearby prospects between stops. Reporting is basic, and the app can glitch after updates.

SPOTIO: Leans more to territory coverage and manager visibility, but reps can plan stops on a map and log activity by voice or photo from the field. Per-seat pricing runs steep for small teams.

The evening-admin test is probably the one I’d use. If a rep can finish the last customer visit and head home without spending another hour updating the CRM, the software is doing its job. Map My Customers’ voice-to-text logging sounds especially useful there; route optimization alone only solves half the field rep’s day.
