Trying to do everything inside one tool usually didn’t give us enough confidence before sending. Here's the workflow that worked for us:
build in Beefree or similar
export to ESP
quick test in-platform
final validation with a dedicated testing tool

Another thing to watch out for is dark mode and mobile responsiveness. A lot of tools claim responsive design, but actual behavior varies across devices. That’s where more advanced testing becomes important, especially for brands that care about design consistency.

For our e-commerce, Omnisend worked well because it’s fast to iterate and test campaigns. But even there, testing is still somewhat manual. You send test emails, check a few devices, and hope nothing breaks. It’s good for speed, but not for deep QA.

A different angle to consider is how much testing you actually need. If you’re sending high-volume campaigns to diverse audiences, cross-client rendering matters a lot. But if your audience is mostly Gmail/mobile, simpler testing workflows might be enough, and tools like Brevo or ContactPigeon can cover most needs.

### Comment 5

One thing we learned the hard way is that most of these platforms blur the line between “preview” and “testing.”

A preview in the builder is not the same as seeing how the email behaves in real inboxes.

We ended up using tools like Brevo or Omnisend for quick iterations, but relying on dedicated manual testing tools before final sends.
