# Trainual vs Absorb LMS vs TalentLMS: which is best for replacing manual onboarding and scattered training documents?

Trainual, Absorb LMS, and TalentLMS are all pitched as the fix for onboarding chaos, so we pulled the actual ratings for Training Management Systems instead of taking that pitch at face value.

Here's how the ratings break down:

Trainual (4.7 stars, 1,075 reviews): The highest average of the three, and reviewers consistently describe it as the platform built specifically to replace scattered docs and shared drives, centralizing every role, process, and policy in one searchable place.

Absorb LMS (4.6 stars, 969 reviews): A close second, with reviewers describing automated enrollment replacing manual roster-building for new hires and promotions.

TalentLMS (4.6 stars, 806 reviews): Matches Absorb's average, with G2 data showing that companies using it achieve ease of setup and a fast time to launch, which is especially useful for teams migrating from ad hoc onboarding.

All three sit within a few tenths of a star of each other in terms of review volume, so the gap here is thinner than the marketing copy suggests. What actually killed the old shared-drive habit for your team: a hard cutoff, or did it just fade out over a few weeks?

A hard cutoff rarely works on its own, people just keep a shortcut to the old shared drive open in another tab out of habit. What actually kills it is a forcing function on one specific need: someone goes looking for the current version of a process and only the new tool has it because that's the only place it's been updated since rollout. The move that seems to work best based on how teams describe their rollout is asymmetric: cut new-hire access to the old drive immediately, since they have no muscle memory to break, and let existing staff fade out over a few weeks as the content gap between old and new becomes annoying enough to just switch.
