# Recommendations for the best platforms for inventory and order management in discrete manufacturing

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Hey folks,</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true"> I’ve been helping a few manufacturing teams tighten up their <strong>inventory and order management</strong> workflows, especially those juggling multiple plants, suppliers, and SKUs. To save others the same deep dive, I pulled insights from G2’s latest <a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/discrete-erp"><strong>Discrete ERP Software</strong></a><strong> Grid</strong> to see which platforms perform best for visibility, accuracy, and real-time tracking.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Here’s what stood out from the leaders:</p><ul>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/microsoft-microsoft-dynamics-365-business-central/reviews"><strong>Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central</strong></a>: excellent all-round ERP for discrete manufacturing; strong inventory control, purchase order automation, and seamless integrations with Microsoft 365 and Power BI.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/netsuite/reviews"><strong>NetSuite</strong></a><strong>:</strong> one of the most complete cloud-based ERP options for inventory + order management; solid forecasting tools and real-time stock tracking across locations.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/sap-s-4hana-cloud/reviews"><strong>SAP S/4HANA Cloud</strong></a><strong>:</strong> built for complex, global supply chains with high-volume order processing; powerful but requires dedicated implementation time.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/odoo-odoo-erp/reviews"><strong>Odoo ERP</strong></a><strong>:</strong> open-source flexibility makes it great for customizing order workflows; not as plug-and-play but cost-effective for smaller manufacturers.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/odoo-odoo-erp/reviews"><strong>Odoo ERP</strong></a><strong>:</strong> well-liked for its ease of use and visibility into order flows; works well for mid-sized manufacturers wanting modern dashboards and mobile access.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/sap-ecc/reviews"><strong>SAP ECC</strong></a><strong>:</strong> dependable legacy system, still widely used for inventory-heavy operations, though less agile than its cloud counterparts.</li>
</ul><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">I based this mostly on G2’s satisfaction and market presence data plus user feedback around inventory accuracy, procurement, and order fulfillment speed.  anyone here using these? What's been your experience? </p>

&lt;p&gt;Which ERP has actually helped you cut down on inventory errors or speed up order fulfillment? Curious what’s made the biggest difference in real-world use.&lt;/p&gt;
