Been using apollo.ai for this; it’s been pretty good at catching bad emails at the sign-up. A lot less fake emails after this.

ZeroBounce has worked well for us at sign-up because the API is fast and doesn’t add noticeable friction. It catches obvious bad emails without hurting conversion too much. That balance between accuracy and speed is what matters most.

### Comment 3

Speed matters more than expected in real-time verification. If the API takes even a few extra seconds, users can feel the delay during sign-up and may drop off before completing the form. This becomes more noticeable on mobile or slower connections. We found that anything beyond near-instant validation starts to hurt conversion rates, even if the verification itself is accurate.

### Comment 4

We found that combining verification with basic form validation (like typos or disposable emails) works better than relying on one tool alone.
