Question on: Microsoft Project & Portfolio Management
How do I best plan my resources with MS Project?
?
MS Project has resource planning capabilities. You can create a master list of resources for your project. Each resource can have a cost associated with it and a resource utilization. As resources are assigned to tasks, you can track if the resource is overutilized, cost allocation to the project and so on using the built in reports.
MS project is a tool, the benefits you get depend on your use of it

Question on: Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)
Does Mavenlink have an integration platform?
Yes, you can. We needed a way to get monthly, recurring tasks to repeat for our retainer clients and Mavenlink created an integration for us.
Yes, Mavenlink M-Bridge is a bridge unlike any other integration platform. It’s the first purpose-built integration platform for services organizations, designed to seamlessly connect your solutions and be as dynamic as your business. Most of the PSA and PPM solutions leverage white-labeled integration platforms. Not Mavenlink, it's built, maintained, and supported 100% by Mavenlink.

Question on: Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)
Why is Mavenlink a leader in more than one G2 Crowd category.
Mavenlink is a new paradigm when compared to traditional leading PSA's (OpenAir, Changepoint, FinancialForce, etc.). Our solution is what the modern PSO needs to plan and deliver effectively in today's highly-collaborative, fast-changing business environment where agility and productivity are more important than ever. We are reimagining it in four distinct ways. Which means focusing on Resource Management, Collaboration, and Project Management.
1) Collaboration at the Core - Mavenlink is built to bring teams together, and help them plan and deliver work in a highly collaborative, efficient, disciplined way. We're the only app serving PSO's that combines the principles of the latest Collaborative Work Management (CWM) apps and PSA in one (Gartner).
2) Robust Project Management with Financials in One - many PSA's say they offer project management, but in reality the functionality is weak and incomplete, so project managers are left to turn to spreadsheets and third-party project management applications to manage their projects, tasks, and teams. Mavenlink has recognized the importance of this work and its related data living inside the same system where resource management, project accounting, and reporting live, in order to have a complete and ready view of status and performance at any time. Our collaborative Project Management capabilities are top-of-class, evident on G2Crowd as we're the only app listed as a Project Management Leader AND a PSA Leader.
3) Full-Cycle Resource Management - Mavenlink is the only app on the market that truly provides resource managers the ability to maximize utilization, and drive planning and delivery success through the entire project lifecycle. From capacity planning and estimating, to project planning, delivery, and optimization, Mavenlink addresses the most pressing needs of resource planners at every stage. PSA's can often do the job on project planning, but lack in effectively supporting demand and capacity planning, and in providing the visibility and collaboration necessary to address regular unplanned changes in resource needs at the speed the business requires - especially when active projects are being managed in another app.
4) BI Built In - Managing a PSO with precision and agility today starts with having all important operational information in one place. A key to achieving this is leveraging an operational platform that comprehensively collects all important data points throughout the planning and delivery lifecycle, and displays up-to-date views of the information required to make confident business decisions. Mavenlink not only collects all of these key data elements with its "operational system of record" approach, but since everyone on the team is using Mavenlink (breadth of solution + adoption), there's no waiting for timesheet updates and data loads from other systems to make sense of things. Unlike PSA's that often provide weak reporting toolkits or just an option to integrate with a third-party Business Intelligence solution, Mavenlink provides 60+ thoughtfully designed, services-centric business intelligence reports out of the box.
