[Which hybrid cloud storage platforms give an IT team the easiest management console for running storage across multiple sites without logging into each location separately?](/discussions/which-hybrid-cloud-storage-platforms-give-an-it-team-the-easiest-management-console-for-running-storage-across-multiple-sites-without-logging-into-each-location-separately)

The part that quietly eats an IT team's time is having to log into each site's storage separately just to check health or pull a report. So I've been trying to work out which[](https://www.g2.com/categories/hybrid-cloud-storage-solutions)[hybrid cloud storage platforms](https://www.g2.com/categories/hybrid-cloud-storage-solutions) give you a single management console to run storage across every location, and which ones still leave you hopping between edges. I dug into the Administrator reviews, since that's whose day this affects most, and focused on what they say about the console itself.

- [**Nasuni**](https://www.g2.com/products/nasuni/reviews): Admins point to this as the strongest answer here. The Nasuni Management Console lets them check the health of every filer from one place instead of visiting each edge, and the interface gets described as clean and quick for daily tasks. The main gap they raise is reporting, one storage admin wants scheduled email reports of edge status instead of logging in to check, and connecting multiple volumes can feel fiddly.
- [**CTERA**](https://www.g2.com/products/ctera/reviews): Admins run their edge filers through a central portal, spinning up new filers and managing shares from the Gateways and Portals without touching each site. The recurring ask, and it's directly relevant to this question, is a single consolidated dashboard to see the status of all gateways at once, which is the one piece of the console they most want improved.
- [**Panzura**](https://www.g2.com/products/panzura/reviews): Built for exactly this, it turns many sites into a single source and lets you search across all file shares from one pane, with global file locking. It's a small review base, though, and one admin running it across 31 sites flagged that two dashboards reported different capacities and that finding locked files across sites got hard. If you're running a large multi-site setup, has the console held up as you added locations?

For the IT crowd running multiple sites, which of these consoles held up as a true single pane once you were past a handful of locations, and where did you still end up logging into individual sites anyway?

From G2 reviews, Nasuni holds up best as a true single pane past a handful of locations. Admins running large multi-site deployments consistently describe it as the one where daily health checks and filer management genuinely don't require logging into individual sites, with the reporting gap being the main friction rather than the console itself. Panzura is the one where the single-pane promise quietly breaks at scale, with the dual-dashboard capacity discrepancy and locked-file visibility issues that reviewers flag becoming more operationally painful the more sites you add.

[Which leading hybrid cloud storage vendors have the strongest compliance and encryption for an enterprise that handles regulated data and cannot accept a storage solution with weak security controls?](/discussions/which-leading-hybrid-cloud-storage-vendors-have-the-strongest-compliance-and-encryption-for-an-enterprise-that-handles-regulated-data-and-cannot-accept-a-storage-solution-with-weak-security-controls)

Hoping to get a read from folks who review and evaluate cloud storage software for regulated environments. Which leading hybrid cloud storage vendors have the strongest compliance and encryption for an enterprise that handles regulated data and cannot accept a storage solution with weak security controls?

Working from the[](https://www.g2.com/categories/hybrid-cloud-storage-solutions)[hybrid cloud storage solutions](https://www.g2.com/categories/hybrid-cloud-storage-solutions) category, I’d set the bar, roughly as this:

- Encryption at rest and in transit as the default, not a setting someone has to remember
- Keys the enterprise holds, so nobody upstream can read the data
- Certifications auditors recognize without a fight
- Locked retention for records that legally cannot be altered or deleted
- A clear trail of who touched what, and when

Some tools that keep coming up:

- [**NetApp ONTAP**](https://www.g2.com/products/netapp-ontap-data-management-software/reviews): encryption is built into the storage itself, and its SnapLock feature locks records so they cannot be changed or deleted until their retention period ends. A long-standing answer in finance and healthcare, but it needs real expertise to run.
- [**Nasuni**](https://www.g2.com/products/nasuni/reviews): encrypts everything before it leaves your site, and you hold the keys, so the cloud behind it only ever stores scrambled data. Enterprise reviewers give it the highest satisfaction in this category. Built for file data, though, not databases.
- [**Google Cloud Storage**](https://www.g2.com/products/google-cloud-storage/reviews): encrypts by default, lets you manage your own keys, and reviewers score its data security top of this category. The catch is that it's the public-cloud half of the equation, so residency comes down to how carefully you set it up.
- [**Azure Stack**](https://www.g2.com/products/azure-stack/reviews): the answer when the regulator's position is "the data doesn’t leave the building." It runs Azure services inside your own datacenter, even disconnected. Reviewer satisfaction sits on the lower side in this category's data, and you carry the infrastructure burden.

For those who run security reviews on storage vendors: what's the issue that actually makes a tool fail one? And is there anything i should add to my evaluation criteria?

From G2 reviews, the issue that most commonly fails a vendor in a real security review is key management depth. G2 reviewers describe tools that offer encryption, but where customer-managed keys are an add-on or require a third-party KMS integration that introduces its own audit complexity, with Nasuni's client-side encryption model and NetApp's SnapLock consistently passing that test without extra configuration. The criteria most often missing from evaluation checklists is data residency verification under replication. Reviewers in regulated industries flag that several platforms encrypt correctly but replicate to regions that violate residency requirements unless explicitly restricted, which only surfaces during the audit rather than the evaluation.
