"CTERA: Robust, Easy-to-Deploy File Storage Solution"
What do you like best about CTERA?

I like that CTERA offers an enterprise NAS service that's easy to manage for admins. The inbuilt ransomware protection is very useful, helping us detect and prevent any suspicious activity on file storage. I also appreciate the honeypot feature, which helps trap threat actors. It's easy to deploy, and our data migration was completed in minimum time. Additionally, CTERA provides an easy file sharing solution and stores all our data securely in the Azure S3 bucket. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CTERA?

There is no centralized monitoring, but now they are coming with a new feature called Insight. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong Replication Infrastructure Keeps Shares Accessible"
What do you like best about CTERA?

The replication infrastructure between the portal and the database, together with the filer solution, lets us continue using our shares without needing to access the Cloud (Portal). The engineering support has been excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CTERA?

It would be useful to have the share configuration replicated between filers. Regarding licensing, it would be better to base it on actual space consumption rather than on deleted space (snapshots). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless File Access and Storage Management"
What do you like best about CTERA?

I use CTERA for accessing user files and folders for day-to-day operations and archiving files as per business policy. What I like most about CTERA is the easy access it provides to customers for files and folders through a simple share path, which is great for users spread across the globe. It has minimized physical storage usage, as everything is stored in the cloud, making it easy to access user data globally. The initial setup required minimal effort, which was a big plus for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CTERA?

I find monitoring the console of all my CTERA edge filers in one place could be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Setup and Migration with CTERA"
What do you like best about CTERA?

I really like the easy setup of CTERA Gateways for migrations. It makes bringing down data from the portal simple without needing to manually migrate it. The integration with tools like CTools helps in moving files effortlessly. Also, I find it easy to set up and migrate in CTERA. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CTERA?

I don't like the monitoring features in CTERA. A simple consolidated dashboard to monitor all the gateways would be better, and it's frustrating that old logs are not available at times to find the root cause. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simplified Storage with Easy File Management"
What do you like best about CTERA?

I like how simple CTERA is to use, especially appreciating the simplified UI. The Gateways and Portals stand out to me as they allow us to create new edge filers and manage shares easily. I also find CTERA's better functionality and versatility compared to our previous solution, like its version control and deduplication capabilities, to be a strong advantage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CTERA?

I think monitoring could be better. There's no simplified monitoring dashboard where we can see the status of all gateways at once. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable File Services with Room for Enhanced Monitoring"
What do you like best about CTERA?

I like CTERA because it provides easy NFS sharing and the deduplication of files, which saves disk space. It's also being used for distributed file services and data sharing, making the setup of Edge filers easier if one goes down. It's great for allowing file access across multiple sites around the world. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CTERA?

Monitoring can be improved especially in a multiple edge filer environment. Migration of files took more time than expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Unified, Secure, and Efficient File Management Made Easy"
What do you like best about CTERA?

CTERA provides a unified, secure, and highly efficient platform for managing distributed file services across multiple sites. The combination of on-prem edge filers with cloud-based global file system synchronization is extremely helpful for our environment. It simplifies branch storage, reduces reliance on legacy file servers, and offers strong performance, granular permissions, snapshots, and ransomware protection. Centralized management and reliable support make administration smooth and predictable, which is a major upside. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CTERA?

Some areas could be more intuitive, especially when handling large-scale upgrades, filer synchronization delays, and occasional UI responsiveness issues. Troubleshooting certain edge cases can require deeper engagement with support due to limited in-depth documentation for complex scenarios. Additionally, upgrade scheduling and dependency coordination can sometimes feel cumbersome. Improving real-time visibility and streamlining firmware updates would greatly enhance the overall experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential for Global File Sync with Stellar Support"
What do you like best about CTERA?

I find CTERA essential for sharing and syncing files globally across multiple locations, including both edge and central sites. Its reliability and consistency in syncing files are outstanding, even when managing a network that includes one central and over 60 remote site locations. The synchronization is not only fast but also highly accurate, ensuring that our data remains uniform across all locations. What I particularly appreciate is the excellent global customer support provided by CTERA. Whenever issues or complaints arise, their support team addresses them promptly and effectively, which enhances the overall user experience. Additionally, setting up CTERA is straightforward and user-friendly, as my team and I encountered no difficulties from the beginning of its use until now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CTERA?

I find the lack of documentation for setting up the CTERA environments in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) problematic. It was difficult for me to find a knowledge guide or the required documentation while setting up a new CTERA environment in GCP, which could have significantly facilitated the process.
