Question on: Arbor Threat Mitigation System
[How can false positives be minimized during DDoS mitigation?](/discussions/how-can-false-positives-be-minimized-during-ddos-mitigation)

Minimizing false positives starts with establishing accurate baselines of normal traffic behavior. Arbor Sightline and TMS use adaptive baselining and real-time traffic analysis to differentiate between legitimate surges and malicious activity. Organizations can further refine policies over time to better align with their specific traffic patterns, reducing the risk of blocking valid users. Both Arbor Sightline and TMS also use the ATLAS Intelligence Feed to block known sources of attacks with high confidence.

There’s always a tradeoff, so tuning should prioritize protecting critical user flows first.

Question on: Arbor Threat Mitigation System
[How can multi-vector DDoS attacks be effectively handled?](/discussions/how-can-multi-vector-ddos-attacks-be-effectively-handled)

Multi-vector attacks require coordinated mitigation across different layers of the network. Arbor TMS supports simultaneous handling of volumetric, protocol, and application-layer attacks by applying multiple mitigation techniques in parallel. In addition, Arbor Sightline can orchestrate Flowspec mitigation using network routers. This allows organizations to address each attack vector appropriately without leaving gaps in protection.

Automation helps, but teams still need clear prioritization logic to decide which vector to suppress first.

Question on: Arbor Threat Mitigation System
[How can response times to DDoS attacks be reduced?](/discussions/how-can-response-times-to-ddos-attacks-be-reduced)

Reducing response time requires automation and integration with DDoS attack detection systems. Arbor TMS can be automatically triggered by upstream detection platforms such as Arbor Sightline, enabling mitigation policies to activate within seconds of detecting abnormal traffic. This minimizes reliance on manual intervention and helps contain attacks before they escalate.

Automation is critical, but it’s only as good as the detection accuracy feeding it.
