2022 was a tumultuous year for many in SaaS, as we all faced economic headwinds and uncertainty. At G2, during our 10th year in business, we listened closely to our customers and what was happening in the market. Coming off a record-setting 2021, we knew we had the ability to continue this momentum, but would need to be more efficient and cautiously optimistic. It’s what we call “smart growth” at G2.

Over the past year, Artificial Intelligence has shifted from marketing hype to business imperative, reshaping the way we work and fueling organizations’ growth. According to G2’s 2024 Buyer Behavior Report, based on a survey earlier this year of nearly 2,000 software buyers worldwide, 56% of respondents said their organization had purchased an AI platform within the last three months. Of those buyers, 83% said their organization has already seen a positive return on investment (ROI)  from that purchase.

At G2, we’re about to wrap up our fiscal year and are reflecting on 2023. Despite challenges we’re all facing across the tech sector,  I’m proud of our team for continuing to pursue our mission with resilience — cementing our position as the premier destination for software discovery and marketplace intelligence.
