I manage data pipeline for national logistics firm we were absolutely drowning in sensor data until we brought in FME Platform. Thing that i really loved was KafkaConnector transformer, being able to drop that onto canvas in FME Form and immediately start subscribing to our real time message broker was wild. I didn't have to write single line of custom streaming code. We push result straight to our live Tableau dashboard now.

We run pretty massive fiber rollout across Bavaria and biggest issue was keeping live network monitoring tool in sync with physical asset inventory. What blew me away with FME Form is how smoothly HTTPCaller transformer handles complex and paginated API request. I used to have team of developer writing custom script just to pull daily hardware log into our mapping system. Now we chain http Caller right into JSONFragmenter and data flattens out and maps straight to our spatial database.

I use FME primarily as a data integration and automation tool. It allows me to take data from multiple sources, transform it into the right formats and deliver it where it needs to go.
