What I like most about Carbone is that it offers us autonomy. It has completely transformed the dynamic between our clients and the sales and support teams. Since we started using Carbone, the sales and support teams no longer depend on programmers to create a custom report template with detailed information or a specific quote format for a sector or industry. Before, every time we needed to change a logo, color, or clause, a programmer had to open the source code, modify it, test it, and deploy it in production, which was inefficient and time-consuming. We also take advantage of the API testing interface. Before uploading any template to the production environment, we need to test that the JSON fits perfectly with the tags; the testing API saves us the slow cycle of modifying the code, compiling, testing on the server, and viewing the PDF. Additionally, we use Carbone together with our CRM.

I use Carbone for generating customized PDFs and it works well. What I like the most is the team behind it, who always help despite not being many; they are responsive and kind. I also appreciate the PDFs and the flexibility, it allows me to generate customized checklist reports for our clients, with a specific format for each client. It works the way I want. I use it with an API and our MaintenanceCoach application. On the OpenShift installation side, we struggled a bit, but the team is responsive.

What I like most is the functionality and the features. It lets the user play with the product to achieve the desired outcome. I'd also emphasize the free plan quota, which was very helpful. It provides 100 free templates in a month, so my team was able to use it and didn't have to struggle through documenting all the workflows and the entire process. It's a cloud deployment, so you don't really need a system for it. The integrations and documentation support are easy. From a developer standpoint, it's a positive experience since it uses an API, and because of that API support, working with templates becomes a little easier, especially if you need it on an ad hoc basis. It's easier to understand. It worked well for template creation and design, letting me relay different templates in formats and tools like Microsoft Word, Docs, and Spreadsheets. I could design and preview documents before finalizing them and allowing the generation. It also gives you document conversion, where you upload a JSON file that triggers through the API gateway and gives you output in docx, PDF, or different formats. It can handle simple to complex reports. We integrated it with Microsoft Word, and that was seamless. Because of the seamless integrations, it essentially saved our team's time, since otherwise you'd have to build everything from scratch offline. It gave us faster review cycles and time saved, and we could do everything on the cloud on the go without coming offline. Even with the double quote and single quote edge case, it's very flexible and gave us an example of using single quotes so we could move along easy. The initial setup was pretty straightforward and only took us a couple of minutes to get going. All in all, a good experience.
