I particularly like the approach with regular Word or Office templates. You don't have to completely rebuild the layout in some proprietary editor, but can take an existing template and insert the dynamic content via tags or JSON data. Especially with PDFs or DOCX files, I find this much more pleasant than having to programmatically generate the entire document. I also found it positive that Carbone is quite suitable for automated workflows. Structured data can be passed via the API and then directly output as a finished document. If you already work with APIs or, for example, n8n, the concept is easy to understand. Once the template works, the actual generation process is pleasantly unspectacular: data in, document out. At the same time, you can map conditions, repeating elements, and nested data structures, making the system interesting for more complex reports.

What I like most is that it feels practical rather than overloaded with unnecessary features. It has made my workflow a lot easier, and the overall experience has been smooth and reliable.
