Solid platform, mature design, and Familiar interface, but more expensive that in the past

It is a mature product that my team is comfortable with using. It is feature rich. The networking interfaces and switch interfaces are excellent.

Seamless vSAN-vCenter Integration and Easy Scaling, But Troubleshooting Can Be Complex

Of course, the most obvious upside of using vSAN is how seamlessly it integrates with VMware storage and lets you manage storage policies from the same vCenter interface, rather than having to manage a separate storage platform. Scaling is also fairly straightforward, since you can add capacity to the existing cluster as your requirements grow. In terms of cost, I'd say, if you're already managing your infrastructure on VMware then you do not need a separate infra or storage management control plane license. In terms of performance, it's not just about vSAN as a service, it depends heavily on underlying disk types, network configuration, cluster design and type of workload running. If you are already on VMware vSphere and vCenter, having vSAN integrated into the existing VMware environment reduces the learning curve., in therm of support, troubleshooting is a complex thing when issue related to disk groups, network connectivity, storage policies or hardware compatibility, so having proper documentation and support mechanism is important.

Stable, low-maintenance Kubernetes for replicating per-client environments

At Telus Digital we used VKS to move our IVR backend (Node.js with MySQL and Redis) from on-premise virtual servers into Kubernetes. I created the clusters myself, one per client, and kept their definitions as YAML files in a GitLab repository. What I liked most was how stable it was: our first client's cluster ran for a long time with very little maintenance. At one point we had to move that cluster to a new server, and because everything was defined in YAML, it was just a matter of deploying the cluster again in the new location. It also fit into the VMware environment we already had, so we didn't need a separate platform just for Kubernetes.
