## Zencastr Reviews
  ### 1. The service was nice while I used it.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael J. | Assistant Professor of Sociology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

Zencastr did great with recording services. I liked that it had a time stamp directly on the screen for me to communicate any errors to edit out during the recording of our podcast episode.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

The cost of Zencastr is a bit high. This is why I changed services.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Zencastr was a solution for recording the podcast episodes of New Books in Sociology.

  ### 2. See how the platform growth during the years

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ilya A. | Senior Sound Production Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

I like the product, the quality of the recordings, the online support, and the audio and video settings. I firmly believe that not many competitors on the market for this price can provide you with this value and quality recording.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

- Slow support response if you are in a different timezone,
- It is impossible to set up individual audio monitoring for the participants (the balance between speakers).
- I like the video recording quality, but the preview always looks barely understandable and pixelized despite how good your connection is.
- After each break in the recording, the web page is updated, and all of your colleagues must pass the green room again. Sometimes, this is a buggy moment.
- After using ZenCastr for 3 years, I still don't understand the difference between the Room and Episode sections. I think it can be easier and more understandable.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do not use ZenCastr's editing features. I aim to record the audio/video and bring materials to the postproduction stage outside the platform.

  ### 3. The one-stop-shop for podcasters

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel J. | Future Markets Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

Zencastr has all the features I need as a postmaster, and the interface is very user-friendly. The recordings have been of great quality and the local recording methodology has saved my arse a couple of times when the connection has been flaky and I'm interviewing guests.

That makes Zencastr my favourite podcast platform is the customer service. Staff are flexible, quick to respond and genuinely helpful.

They have improved their monetisation mechanisms recently, and I'm hoping to capitalise on this.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

I wish I could toggle the user dashboard from night to day. If there is a way, I haven't found it! Sometimes the black background isn't very user friendly during bright daylight.

Some of the options and menus are plugged away and hidden. The settings menu could be more comprehensive.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Zencastr enables me to record and also gives the option of producing in house, using credits, or downloading and doing my production elsewhere. My needs differ from episode to episode so this flexibility is perfect. It would be easy for Zencastr to force users tk use their post production but they wisely opt not to.

  ### 4. Friendly and professional

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emma s. | Steward, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

I like the layout and recording sound. I used the free service to begin with and tried other streaming platforms to record when I ran out of time on Zen, but nothing sounded as clean as Zencastr. I have now upgraded to a paid plan as I much prefer the sound. The back up files save me often when connection is lost. the sound quality is untouched even when the video link is dirupted, very helpful in podcasting. I dont use it for editing as I have softwear for that but the mp3 upload is not complicated and I am thrilled to see as a paid member I can now shedual uploads.
I recently needed help re a trailer issue and the team got back to me quickly via email in a friendly mannor and resolved my problem for me (even though it was my user error!)
I highly recomend

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

I wish I could do the questons and pols listner feedback that Spotify supplies on the episodes.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I could not get my new trailer in the trailer position on spotify no matter what I tried!

  ### 5. the best for recording virtual podcasts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily S. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

It's an easy-to-use platform that works really well to record virtually. I rarely have issues with the recording process and I love that it records everyone on the call with individual audio clips, which makes editing so much easier.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

Nothing, I recommend it to everyone I can!

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of getting the audio files when recording with multiple people or working with clients.

  ### 6. We Love it!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kim K. | Producer , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

We have tried many tools for recording podcasts and can confidently say that Zencastr has the best recording ability. As veteran podcasters, we have recorded over 600 interviews and wish we had discovered this tool earlier. The sound quality is professional-grade, and it’s very user-friendly for guests. Recently, they released an IOS app, which has made the recording process seamless and hassle-free. We have been monetizing our podcast for years, and choosing Zencastr was a no-brainer due to its excellent features.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

Currently, you cannot add backdated episodes to your feed. However, the team is working on this feature we were told. We need this ability to release episodes in our free feed that we archived for subscribers.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a professional-level sound quality for interviews will enhance the experience of our listeners.

  ### 7. Terrible Customer Serice

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chad R. H. | Multimedia Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

I enjoyed the free platform, ability to record remotely as well as record seperate audio channels

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

The customer service was extremely unhelpful and the #1 reason I will not continue with Zencastr as a podcast platform. I was recording a series of podcast episodes over a couple of months and did not understand that all recordings needed to be downloaded within 31 days. Once I realized this I spoke to customer service and asked for a reprieve on this as it only was an issue with one 5 minute podcast episode. I was repeatedly told by Lynn Matugas the manager of Zencastr support that she couldnt help me unless I upgraded my account. Thata was one of the worst responses I've heard from customer service to resolving an issue that they can'y help unless I give them money. I gave them multiple warnings that I will leave Zencastr for a competitor and write this review if my problem is not resolved. Lynn Matugas' response was"...wish you the best of luck in your podcasting journey!". Why would I want to move forward with a company that has customer service that refuses to help?

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helped record podcast episodes to inform inhouse staff on product launches and corprorate department initiatives

  ### 8. Excellent Remote Podcast Solution

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan K. | Owner/Producer, Media Production, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

The ability to get individual tracks at a higher quality. Also, the fact that the audio and video are stored locally then uploaded means better quality and fewer issues if the stream initerupts.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

There are times the program can be a bit buggy. Sometimes you're not seeing audio when it's recording, the guests being stuck in the "green room" not always getting a clear picture as to why someone doesn't pass checks. That all said, their support team is amazing and has helped me many times.

UPDATE - Since the latest update to the platform, it has become unstable. Clients who never had issues before are now having connectivity and recording issues. I've had to re-record numerous episodes since the update and have moved to a different solution. I was using Zencastr with my students as the free version was still very powerful even with audio-only recordings, which require the bare minimum, we're still having issues getting access to files once the recordings are done. Their tech services just offer blanketed "make sure you follow our specs" responses (which I have) and no real support. The original version of the platform was amazing, but I can no longer recommend this software.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote broadcasting. Not being able to record in person during the pandemic, Zencastr was a lifesaver. Since then, my clients love the quality and being able to not always have to travel to record. It allows us to expand the reach of the show by having guests anywhere and not sacrificing quality.

  ### 9. Zencastr is no longer quite so Zen

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

Zencastr's best feature is its "browser-only" recording studio. A simple link enables podcast hosts and guests to join and be recorded without any additional software, downloads or hardware -- although a good microphone is a plus for a better recording.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

Unfortunately, with Zencastr's popularity, it has gotten away from the "Zen" part of its name -- cluttering the interface and adding new options with little explanation. What is a "room," "episode," or "show," and when should you use each one? They also provide poor guidance for the producer function. And lately, we have seen guests knocked off the platform mid-recording.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Zencastr solves today's "remote interview" problem where guest and host can't be in the same location, with a simple online recording studio. This has (in the past) made it very easy to set up and record a podcast for hosts and guests who might be across the country from one another.

  ### 10. Zen w Zencastr

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George S. | Content Writer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

The ability to download seperate Audio files so I can edit my guests audio.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

Took long to verify my microphone when setting up.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Help me interview people from abroad that I otherwise couldnt. The application gives me seamless audio intergration and is very user friendly when it comes to its interface.

  ### 11. Beware, Zencastr is frequently not working

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

The thing I like best about Zencastr is the memories of when it used to be a reliable solution. In the past 6 months we've had to reschedule several interviews because their site was down or not working.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

Their "health check" system which frequently prevents me from recording when there aren't any actual technical issues on either end.

**Recommendations to others considering Zencastr:**

Find an alternative that is reliable.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When it used to work, it was great for recording podcasts. Sadly, they do not have a professional release process and therefore can't be relied on by serious podcasts.

  ### 12. Zencastr

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

Very easy to setup meeting
Easy to invite guests or copy URL
Easy join
Quickly connects to audio
Can use outside audio source input
Recording for podcast

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

It is not supported in safari. This is difficult for Apple Mac and iPhone users because they have to download chrome or another supported browser

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recording podcasts
Time saver
I do not have to do a separate zoom
Better audio quality

  ### 13. A Great Remote Podcasting Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris D. | Lead Minister, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

Zencastr records me and my cohosts as separate audio files at high quality remotely.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

While it's never affected my actual use of the service, the site often flags a warning for available storage. My SSD has an available space of 250GB...

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My cohosts and I record a podcast every Monday with each of us thousands of miles apart from one another. Zencastr makes that possible. The quality of the recordins is excellent, as is the live experience of chatting with my friends.

  ### 14. It works but there are better options

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

Zencastr delivers on the feature it promises. Local recording and calls over its proprietary VOIP make this a better option than (gasp) Zoom.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

Connectivity issues persist. Latency often apparent since video was added. And audio tracks uploaded into a recording studio often fail.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It enabled us to podcast seamlessly, part of that time with two hosts on opposite coasts, for 4 years total.

  ### 15. Powerful Remote Podcasting APP

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gary A. | Lecturer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

Having the chance to record separate audio and video tracks for each talent is incredibly useful.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

Setting up recording can be confusing if you don´t have basic computer skills.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Zencastr for recording talent in several locations for different podcasts.

  ### 16. ZenCaster Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve I. | Director of Camper and Alumni Engagement, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

I like the fact that it's easy to use and the recording are automatically linked to my DropBox for easy access. The customer service is very prompt and knowledgeable as well. I've recorded several podcasts and so far so good!!

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

The only issue I have is that I cannot use my external microphone when I record. It's probably an easy fix, but I just have yet to figure that one out yet.

**Recommendations to others considering Zencastr:**

If you are just entering the PodCast world, ZenCaster is a great platform to use to record not only yourself but with 2,3 or even 4 guests. It's simple and the postproduction is done moments after you end your recording!! If I can figure it out, then it must be good :)

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are really no problems. The benefit is having people record remotely, so they don't have to be "in studio" when the podcasts occur. I've recorded with groups of 3 and of 4 and have had no problem at all. It's very convenient in that way.

  ### 17. Great Choice for Listening to Podcasts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex T. | Creator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

Easy to use app that gets me all my podcasts in one place.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

Not all podcasts are on there, but maybe in time, they will be.

**Recommendations to others considering Zencastr:**

Great podcasting option for whatever you want to do in podcasting.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am listening to the podcasts I like.

  ### 18. Best sound quality for podcast recording (I've compared side by side)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mei Yi Y. | Producer & Host, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

The sound quality is so clear, and I've done side by side comparison

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

Sometimes after a recording is over, you might live in suspense for a while wondering if the audio is uploaded

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can do podcast recording remotely with guests

  ### 19. Zencastr helps you simplify your editing in podcasting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tara B. | Music Consultant/Entertainer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

I like that when you record a guest you get separate mp3s for downloading. Easier to edit for podcasts. Plus you can create a new call with your guest if something happens where you have to start again. And then since the downloads are in MP3 format, you can copy, paste, chop, etc.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

I wish there was an easier way to test sound levels on Zencastr. I can never tell exactly how loud or soft it is in the moment until I transfer the files later to Garage Band.
Also, I wish you could get it on Safari.

**Recommendations to others considering Zencastr:**

It’s wonderful for recording audio interviews

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me interview guests for my podcast show with a simple link for them

  ### 20. It's a Great Way to Record Podcasts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve I. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

The format is very easy to use and you can add guests via email and record them remotely. It works best if all the participants have head sets and external microphones.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

When I use my headset and microphone, I cannot hear my guests, so I've been recording off my computer microphone that's built it. It's been fine, but I'd really like to utilize my microphone.

**Recommendations to others considering Zencastr:**

It was recommended to me by another user who also hosts a podcast. It's very easy to use. Just make sure your audio setting are on external microphone or computer microphone depending on what you choose to record with.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a quick, inexpensive way to produce a podcast. The benefits is that you can do the post production right on site either mp3 or Wav, the latter is at an additional cost, btw.

  ### 21. Zencastr is Fantastic!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

Zencastr is an easy way to record podcast interviews. Simply invite people, hit record, and download high quality sound files. I discovered Zencastr during lock down, and it allowed our team to keep going with podcasts.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

Nothing. It really does work perfectly for my needs.

**Recommendations to others considering Zencastr:**

None, thank you!

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Podcasting. Before, we were recording in-person, and getting everyone together was a logistical nightmare.

  ### 22. Quality audio, but not many bells and whistles.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

The quality of the audio and ease of use when recording a podcast with guests.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

Editing is not easy using the app and it sounds choppy when you edit out words so for editing I would recommend finding a different software.

**Recommendations to others considering Zencastr:**

I would pair it with another software like Descript if you are using it for podcasting and need editing software.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quality MP4 audio recordings for our podcast without background noise.

  ### 23. Great for recording podcasts remotely

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** MJ P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

Zencastr records on your computer's microphone, so your sound quality is not impacted by poor network connection.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

Sometimes, the software gets disrupted by external hardware like Airpods.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are bootstrapping our podcast, so this is a great solution to interview guests at a low cost.

  ### 24. Great product but fails to work properly often

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

Provides studio-quality recordings with each speaker on a separate track. As this was for a podcast, having separate tracks for all guests is very important. It was recommended to me by a fellow podcaster. It is a very easy to use interface and you are able to start recording without many instructions. It keeps the tracks in your dashboard.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

Very unreliable. Invited guests were not able to log on multiple times making for a very mortifying situation. Once, the platform was down for a 9am call but no support was available until 11am. Only available on Chrome or Firefox and not Safari. There are many technical requirements, including some I don't understand and these should be made clearer before you invite guests to join the call. Unfortunately, until they join, it is impossible to know if their computers and headphones actually pass the test for requirements. The system runs a quick test and lets you know if it is able to record. The worst thing about it is that it will not record if the speaker's computer system or headphones don't pass all the checks. I don't understand why it doesn't record anyway, even if it deems the quality not to be excellent. For podcasting, even a less than perfect recording is better than NO recording.

**Recommendations to others considering Zencastr:**

Have a back up plan. We use Zoom as the back up and while we don't get separate tracks, it is still pretty good.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Needed studio-quality voice recorder for remote interviews for a new podcast. We have other online meeting systems available to us but they don't do multi-track recordings. They only record the session as is but Zencastr is great because it separates the different remote voices into different tracks, allowing the podcaster to equalize the sound. It works great when it works, but so far, we have only been able to use it for one out of 5 interviews.

  ### 25. Deliver what you promise

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

Simple to set up and run if you use Chrome. Supports multiple file formats for recording and offers seamless Dropbox integration.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

1) The user interface is complex and confusing for the guest.
2) There is consistent audio drift, which makes post-production expensive.
3) Despite regularly emailing support over 12 months about audio drifting and promised updates that never happened on the promised date or month.
4) Providing a Zencastr credit because of the issue doesn't acknowledge the cost of post-production when audio drift occurs.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Zencastr enables you to create remote audio interviews.

  ### 26. Easy to use high quality podcast recorder

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pat H. | Tech Startup Consultant, Business Coach, Podcast Host , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

Zencastr is an extremely easy to use tool for podcasters. Have been using Skype for years, guests struggle with it. With Zencastr, all you do is share a unique link with the guest. I use their name. Easy peasey.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

Nothing so far, been concerned it might crash, but nothing so far. Been using it a couple weeks on 4-5 interviews.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Interviewing guests on my podcast

  ### 27. Great for podcasting as long as you have some editing skills + time

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Debbie Jo N. | Lead Community Resource Navigator, Professional Training & Coaching, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

It's super user friendly and pretty easy to navigate. You can add in intro and sponsored ads right into the software so you can play them in real time. It gives comprehensive diagnostics so you can be aware of any potential problems that might arise during your recording session.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

There is a pretty significant audio lag between the files. So it takes a bit of editing skill to cut and move the audio files into place. Also some of the diagnostics don't provide beginner friendly descriptions so you have to search for answers elsewhere.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since my co-host and I live in 2 different states it is difficult to record our podcast but also hear each other. Sound quality is immensely better either Zencastr than with video calling or utilizing a phone.

  ### 28. Great for recording from separate locations.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kris L. | Integration Specialist, Telecommunications, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

I like that this software includes the option to save local copies of each person's recorded audio that can then be compiled together to prevent audio interference from possible internet connectivity issues. It is simple to start a recording by sending a simple link to another person and starting the recording. I like the ability to add sound effects while recording instead of having to wait until post-production.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

I dislike that both parties cannot hear the audio effects that can be triggered by the host. I wish the automatic upload to a cloud source once the session ended was easier to locate and determine if created.

**Recommendations to others considering Zencastr:**

This is a great solution for recording audio when participants are in different locations without losing the call quality as can happen with Skype or Hangouts.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Zencastr allows us to record our podcast regardless of our physical locations. The increase in call quality due to local files being saved for each user has increased the quality level of our podcasts.

  ### 29. Easy Platform for Recording Podcast Interviews

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

If you're looking for a platform to use for recording podcast interviews that is easy to use and reasonably priced then Zencastr is a great option. It's not only easy to use as a podcast host, but I never have any issues with any of my guests being able to use it without any guidance. This makes the interview process so much easier and allows me to focus on the conversation rather than worrying about the technology.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

I haven't had this happen to me, but it does make me nervous that your recording doesn't technically make it to the cloud until you've actually stopped recording and it's uploaded. While this has typically only taken a few seconds for me, I do worry about what happens if I lose my internet connection after completing an interview or if my interviewee jumps off the platform before it's upload. I would hate to lose everything.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Zencastr for conducting all of our podcast interviews remotely.

  ### 30. Not recomended

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer K. | Over the Shoulder Editorial, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Zencastr?**

At first I liked this software because many people in podcasting were recommending it and talking it up.

**What do you dislike about Zencastr?**

Now that I have used it a few times I dislike the technology for its unreliability. On at least two occasions, the software failed to record properly. I contacted customer support and they had some workarounds but it meant I had to re-record, which was inconvenient as a podcast host trying to get guests from around the world.

**Recommendations to others considering Zencastr:**

I would not recommend this product for podcasters. I have experienced poor results on at least two occasions and have heard countless stories from others who are dissatisfied with the product.

**What problems is Zencastr solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, it seemed great to record my over the phone interviews for my podcast. At first it seemed good but in the end, the software is unreliable.
