Actually nothing. In theory Yelp would be a good concept, but they aren't honest and transparent in their review system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Yelp Advertising? When you pay to advertise with Yelp, you'll see a slight bump in your review ranking. However don't expect it to last long. There's no rhyme or reason to what reviews they recommend to show. They claim it's people they say are active "Yelpers" however we have recommended reviews that are written by people with no photo and have only written one review, and our unrecommended reviews are ones written by people who have multiple reviews. The other awful thing is that the unrecommended reviews list your 1 star first then move to your five star so it makes you look like this awful company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. I believe that unbiased reviews are what drives consumers to go with a product or not. Since I have very positive reviews, I think this fact has helped drive more clients my way. I can't say I have any positives or things I like best. I have heard from some colleagues that they have gotten some business after they put a decent chunk of money into yelp ads. However, I just wanted to put my business on their page for better SEO results and have really disliked my experience so far. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Yelp Advertising? I really dislike the amount of harassment I get from yelp. It's finally slowed down after about 3 months but they called me nearly every day multiple times a day to follow up on my yelp listing. It was so frustrating because it started to feel like I was just being spammed with the number of phone calls I would get. Sometimes they left voicemails, sometimes they didn't but they even operate like a spam caller because they would change numbers in an attempt to get me to answer. I would have assumed it would be great for marketing my business and gaining new clients but that has not been my experience. The downside of opening up a Yelp presence for the business are the reviews- there is a lack of transparency regarding which reviews are shown and which are not.
