You can make your website super secure without having to pay a penny! **What do you dislike about WordFence?** The fact you have to re-configure for each website you install the plugin on. I believe this might be a feature with the paid version, but personally, I think this should be across the board. **Recommendations to others considering WordFence:** I think this is the perfect plugin, one of the only services out there that will provide FireWall optimisation with the free version. Loads of tutorials online for setting it up - does exactly as described! V useful for me and my work. **What problems is WordFence solving and how is that benefiting you?** The fact that I can keep track of real-time bots and crawlers, helping weed out the hackers and unidentified IP's. You get a good overview of the stats, saving time - especially when managing more than one website at a time. ### 3. The dashboard reporting is also very useful to provide insights into how my websites are being accessed. **What do you dislike about WordFence?** It's a bit bloated with ads trying to sell premium, not that much though. It can be somewhat overwhelming to first-timers because it has many options, divided by tabs. It does not feature a malware removal tool like some competition plugins. **Recommendations to others considering WordFence:** Wordpress is a widely used platform, so things are always changing and new threats appearing. If you take your website serious, you need to take some precautions. Installing and configuring a security plugin is a must, amongst other things. **What problems is WordFence solving and how is that benefiting you?** I develop my clients websites mainly with WordPress. There are some plugins that are always installed and configured before i "hand the keys" to my clients. One of those is definitely Wordfence. It helps strengthen the website security. ### 4. It serves as a nice light platform compared to others I've had to pay a lot for. **What do you dislike about WordFence?** Wordfence sends emails almost daily asking me to upgrade and they look like as if there's a threat to my site until I read the message. **What problems is WordFence solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Wordfwnce for light site protection. Out of the box it's simple to use and it sends warnings to keep your plugins up to date. I used to pay a lot more for a competing product so I'm glad I no longer have to. ### 8. In addition, the team behind WordFence does great work in protecting the overall WordPress ecosystem, even if you don't use their software. **What do you dislike about WordFence?** I've never had great luck with the firewall feature of WordFence. I've found it to be bulky and that it tends to slow down the site.
