This tool is my go-to for preliminary photo refinement before asset layout work. Its noise reduction handles grainy indoor retail and event photos beautifully without washing out fine surface textures, which keeps lifestyle imagery feeling authentic for small Ontario businesses. The built-in analog film filters make locking uniform brand colour grades across entire campaign batches effortless. It’s lightweight and runs steadily on our studio’s standard Mac and Windows design PCs with zero stuttering. The clean, uncluttered UI lets new junior designers get up to speed instantly, and as a standalone program, we skip launching bulky professional editors just for simple retouch tasks, cutting tons of redundant workflow time each week. There’s no layer management or detailed masking functionality, so any layered composite design work still has to move over to Photoshop. Custom filter controls are restrictive; we can’t bundle our studio’s branded preset combinations into shareable sets for the whole design team to access uniformly. Batch exporting lacks flexible dimension and file type presets optimized for Canadian social platforms and local print specs. There’s also no built-in cloud backup feature to store finished retouched shots, and high-res RAW camera files sometimes shift hues on import, forcing us to add extra colour correction steps afterward.
