Also, performance could be a little better **Recommendations to others considering VMware App Volumes:** Make sure you have a good inventory of your applications as well as take into consideration the opinion of the users of the applications at the time of implementation. Thinapp is similar in its deployment but not as integrated with the operating system and virtual machine. **What do you dislike about VMware App Volumes?** I dislike how apps are updated. This prevents having to recreate the app all over again from the beginning saving a lot of time and potential configuration **What problems is VMware App Volumes solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are solving the problem of deploying software with limited licenses to users logging in via Linked Clones. This allows us to keep track of license counts based on group membership in AD rather than violating license agreements or hoping that users just dont use the software beyond license limitations. ### 27. What's the point of including it then? It would be great if it was a virtual appliance instead of a Windows install. **What problems is VMware App Volumes solving and how is that benefiting you?** We no longer need to update VDI images just to update individual apps.
