It's hard to get a writer for projects, and the work provided is often very low quality. You end up either having to send things back for major revisions or do those revisions yourself—which defeats the purpose of hiring a freelancer at a certain point. It's as simple as that: If you're not getting quality content, there's no point in hiring the service. Their whole format is likely causing a lot of these problems. Writers aren't paid until you accept their piece—but you also don't get to communicate with them until they submit the first draft. You don't even get to look at their qualifications and choose a writer. So they may well spend a lot of time on a piece, and you can't accept it because the content went over their head, and now they're probably mad that they weren't paid, but you still don't have any content for your site. I appreciate how Verblio provides unlimited edit requests for submitted content. It is beneficial to both our needs and the writers who work with us. I think there should be better screening for applicants to join the pool of writers for Verblio. Although we have had mostly positive experiences with writers, there are occasions where we try out new writers and they are quite disappointing. Their grammar will be terrible, almost entirely ignore our writing style, and even produce multiple spelling mistakes that could be avoided with a simple proofread. The writers complete about 80% of our content needs without requiring our team to polish the content. About 20% of our content needs to be revised by our team before publishing. I decided not to use their services. I didn't realize it, but I was signed up for a subscription of $459/month. I don't use that PayPal email much - so I missed the charge e-mails. I was charged 3-months in a row for a SERVICE that I didn't receive. This is not software - why am I being charged regularly? When I explained the situation, they only refunded one month.
