I bought a 1 year hosting with UK2, and 2 days later decided to leave. On the website it says I have Risk free with our 30-day guarantee However, when I claimed the refund, the support team said it's not possible. They said they just can cancel my auto-renewal, but no refund. **What problems is UK2 solving and how is that benefiting you?** None ### 2. Best of all though is the quantity of customer support. Whether it’s web chat or email, you receive a quick, friendly and response from a team of experts. **What do you dislike about UK2?** I can’t think of any real negatives about the service offered by UK2. I use their services for domain hosting and email and never have any real problems. If I do have a query, I’ll raise a support ticket or do a web chat to get the issue resolved. **Recommendations to others considering UK2:** Give UK2 a try before you look anywhere else! **What problems is UK2 solving and how is that benefiting you?** I run a small communications agency and need a platform where I can handle domain hosting in-house. UK2 enables me to do this with minimal stress! Using UK2 means I can offer an additional, cost effective service to my clients, without them having to deal witn another third party. ### 3. When I first signed up there support has been fast in replying and I am not including the first reply that says "We are looking into it", I mean an actual reply that helps. To this day support has always been the same although I do not use support much nowadays. Cost wise I sadly can not really comment on as I currently have a whole bunch of discounted systems but if I had to pay full price I would still say it was worth it! Uptime … this is where the review turns a bit sour. During my time with them I have had three times I would call "complete downtime" due to SAN Issues. Basically the vps went offline for days while their systems was rebuilding or due to their SAN failing. However as of late during the last year they got a new SAN setup and I can honestly say I never seen any downtime lately. **What do you dislike about UK2?** I ordered a 1 year hosting plan and had to pay with my credit card (they didnt offer paypal as an option). About 3 months in I had not used the account. Phonened them to make sure it would be cancelled at the end of the year and they confirmed it would be. Low and behold a year later, I get a bank statement – they charged me £88 (I had paid £44 for the first year). I opened a billing ticket asking them to refund it as I had requested a refund. I also asked why it was that: A) I was never notified the funds would be taken and B) That the price had Doubled! They flat out refused a refund saying I should have sent in a ticket instead of phoning them. Despite never using the account they were still happy to charge me. And get this. As a ‘gesture of good will’ they would extend the account for 12 months (meaning it ended up that I paid £88 for two years. So, at the end of it I’m out £132 for a 3 year hosting account that will never be used. All because of their immoral accounting team. **Recommendations to others considering UK2:** not at this time **What problems is UK2 solving and how is that benefiting you?** None at this time ### 4. I also wanted to inquire about possible deals for young startup companies, and the staff person I spoke with was courteous and knowledgeable. **What do you dislike about UK2?** Nothing per se. Sanguis domain name was available when we were looking to register it, and the only reason we ended up changing from Uk2 to GoDaddy was pricing. GoDaddy was cheaper by ~$100/month compared with UK2. **Recommendations to others considering UK2:** UK2 is very user friendly, and I was particularly impressed by their customer service staff. I had a question about packages for young startups who wanted to establish their first online presence, and the staff person was very helpful. **What problems is UK2 solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were using UK2 to register Sanguis domain name online and establish our web presence. The benefits were easy of use, and the user-friendliness of their platform. ### 5. Allowing the company to pick our own domain name is a major advantage. The website builders and the hosting solutions to get the traffic booming is also a major advantage. **What do you dislike about UK2?** I don't have anything dislike about this product as it has made my life easier and easier. **Recommendations to others considering UK2:** Plan ahead about what you really need and have a proper layout, the reason I am mentioning that is there is more that one product that you can really use in UK2. This will not only limit to having a one domain name. There so many plans that the company offers so choose the right one for you which will reduce the cost. Apart from that proper training and gaining the advantage from the resources such as 24/7 technical support will add more value to the company. **What problems is UK2 solving and how is that benefiting you?** The business problem that we solve is having to choose to have a one domain name for the whole company. I believe that defines who we are to the world and will give the specific uniqueness and integrity to the company. ### 6. I also like the additional extensions you can get as well as dot com etc. 24/7 support was handy too as not all domain providers offer this which has been a pain in the past **What do you dislike about UK2?** Not much! It does what it says on the tin so to speak. If you are expecting a plethora of integrated website plug ins etc, then this is probably not the domain provider for you. You're better off looking at a provider like Pixel Internet. This is great if you need to get a domain running quickly and cheaply, that's it. **Recommendations to others considering UK2:** Great if you want to get a domain/website up super cheaply and quickly but not so great if you want more complex, integrated website plug ins. **What problems is UK2 solving and how is that benefiting you?** To get a website for a client up and running quickly and cheaply because of the low prices as well as the website builder they include. Having the option of 5 email addresses was handy and full DNS control was also useful for things like remote CCTV via a network DVR. ### 7. Up and running in no time with UK2. Instant web support to answer queries and help transfer my domains across. Very pleased. I love this product. **What do you dislike about UK2?** Just like the thousands of others comments and complaints on the net about uk2.net . awful. Support when it happens can be rude, derogatory and downright untrue. This company should be closed down for all the harm they have done to so many people.v **Recommendations to others considering UK2:** Had an account with UK2 to register my domain name, handle my email and hosting and such, for over 14 years now. Can't remember ever having had a problem with their service. **What problems is UK2 solving and how is that benefiting you?** UK2 have given me simple but excellent service for well over a decade; I am not an expert and my demands are modest, but UK2 solves my problems, by voice/phone if necessary, on the rare occasions when they crop up. I don't have the experience to compare costs with other provider, but UK2 seems reasonable to me. ### 9. I have had little to no experience with web hosting, but UK2 is very user friendly and their support team is great, so I had no problem getting my own server set up! **What do you dislike about UK2?** To get full access to some of their "premium" services, it can get a bit expensive. Also, there database seems to be down quite often. **Recommendations to others considering UK2:** My biggest problem with UK2 is that their database and servers can be down for periods at a time-- the worst thus far for me was about 2 days, which is manageable in my area. However, if you need constant database access than this might not be for you. **What problems is UK2 solving and how is that benefiting you?** UK2 is for people that want their own system and be able to set it up as they want and while they can help you with that – they do charge per ticket. But if you know what you are doing then you are the ideal customer. I would recommend to any that are looking for a VPS that is needed to always be on but only if you know what you are doing. ### 10. If your blog will have a lot of pictures you may need to buy the bussiness plans. The price is cheap when you do not need many space. So, its two basics plans are fine to run your little website. There is not such a big different with their bussiness options, and it may be worth it to you. **What do you dislike about UK2?** The price that its website has it refers to its price for the first 12 -24 months.
