**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manas S. | Backend Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Typo?**

With Typo, we are making much more informed decisions to drive performance improvements at the team as well as at the individual level. The best part of Typo is that it never makes my team members insecure and it produces the insights in the most healthy way possible. Another thing is their customization is out of par and their highly responsive support team

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

I feel that Integration with tools like confluence could help us evaluate the workload at the individual dev level even better.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Typo has provided us with detailed insights about the development cycle & our own individual performance which has helped us have objective discussions with our teams and managers.

  ### 4. Great all in one tool for sentiment and sprint/cycle analysis

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan M. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Typo?**

Love that there's a single tool we can use to both analyse how sprints are running at the top level in terms of time to merge etc. and also to gather sentiment from the team.

Being able to send out weekly surveys to the team via slack and see differences across team gives us a good picture of any unexposed risks for those teams.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

Sometimes it can be a little difficult to drill down on some of the stats, more of a learning curve issue than an app issue.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously we relied on the github activity graphs and that much harder to assess, typo makes it much clearer at a higher level how sprints are going across different teams.

  ### 5. Typo helped us get real metrics that improved our sprint performance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lakshya W. | SDE 2, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Typo?**

Typo app helped us get real time insights into our sprint performance. Weekly summaries of how many Prs have been merged, declined etc gives an objective view of how the team is performing week after week, and track improvements and areas that require further work. It also helps track individual performance which is helpful in reviews and helping people understand what they need to focus on to improve speed and code quality both.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

A feature that goes into more detail on why a PR was rejected, and duplicate PR tracking would be great.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Typo helps in visualizing the implementation of code that is required to understand what is going well and where the team is lacking.

  ### 6. I recommend typo ,its really good

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

Some of the metrics are not relevant to be measured. Need an option to hide some of those metrics.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I really align with Typo's philosophy to drive action and make sure there is continuous improvement in the teams.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

Though the Typo team has some development practices templatized or even sets customized goals quickly on request, it would be great if I could do it on my own in the dashboard.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Setting clear path to improvement is always a challenge which is now very simple. Not just setting up best dev practices to improve engineering efficiency but also making sure these are re-inforced in our teams in the daily workflow is really impactful.

While there may be some aspects to criticize, the current tool effectively serves our requirements as a visualization tool for our development process. One suggestion for improvement would be to provide additional tooltips that guide users on implementing specific features within the system. This would be particularly helpful for new users who may find the initial login and integration process overwhelming with multiple accounts involved."

**What do you like best about Typo?**

The investment categories have been particularly significant for me as they provide valuable insights into our team's true focus. They serve as a validation mechanism, ensuring that the development activities align with what the team had planned and promised to deliver. This feature allows me to see which investment categories are receiving the most attention, affirming that the team is prioritizing and dedicating efforts accordingly. It adds a level of transparency and confidence in our development process.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

Nothing to dislike as such. Initially I had to manually mark each uncatogorized PR individually but the typo team automated that as well.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The investment distribution and working agreements have proven to be essential features for me. The investment distribution allows us to monitor whether the team maintains a healthy balance between focusing on product features and addressing technical debt tasks. This helps ensure a sustainable and efficient development process. On the other hand, the working agreements feature helps us identify any blockers or poor practices that may hinder productivity. These features play a crucial role in maintaining a successful and harmonious working environment.

We recently made the switch from a competitor developer analytics tool to Typo and have been thoroughly impressed by its exceptional quality. Typo offers a wider range of KPIs compared to its competitors and maintains a leading position in this domain with its rapid product development speed. Moreover, the outstanding customer support from Typo, characterized by remarkably fast response times, has greatly contributed to our satisfaction

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

So far, we haven't encountered any issues. However, we believe that enhancing the value delivery of Typo could be achieved by integrating with more Software Composition Analysis (SCA) tools.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Typo effectively resolves three significant problems for our team and organization:

1.) It enables us to visualize and track important KPIs for our department and teams. This empowers us to initiate conversations and take action when KPIs fall below our expected standards. The data provided by Typo is extremely valuable and not easily accessible elsewhere.

2.) Typo facilitates aligning our development efforts with our business goals. It helps us understand how development can support these goals and promotes a shared understanding among the team.

3.) Overall, Typo offers deep insights into our team's behavior and provides us with actionable ways to improve. It enables us to gain a comprehensive understanding of our team dynamics and empowers us to make informed decisions for continuous improvement.

One enhancement we would appreciate is the ability to create custom dashboards on Typo, allowing us to consolidate specific metrics in one convenient location.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Typo resolves the challenges we face by providing us with both a high-level overview of our engineering team's health and productivity, as well as the capability to delve deeper into essential metrics. **What do you like best about Typo?**

The feature set offered by Typo is truly remarkable, especially considering its price point. Unlike competitors who charge exorbitantly for similar functionality, Typo provides a comprehensive set of features. Additionally, I had a fantastic experience working with the Typo implementation team, who even assisted us with an on-site installation.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

Honestly, I cannot think of any downsides to mention. Typo is simply a great product.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Typo plays a pivotal role in driving engineering performance by providing a wide range of essential metrics. **Reviewed by:** MANISH A. | Senior Software Development Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Typo?**

The biggest struggle for us has been finding the balance between different types of engineering work and aligning it with our business objectives. However, typo has been instrumental in helping us overcome this challenge. By creating custom work categories, the tool automatically tracks everything and provides us with a comprehensive overview of work breakdown across teams, projects, and developers. This feature has been super useful as it provides complete transparency of the work we have been doing and helps us plan our resources better to achieve our business goals.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

Nothing negative. But I would love to have more customizations as per our dev practices. However, for most of the customizations we needed, the team is delivering on time.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 48. Developer productivity through new age principals

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Parth J. | Associate Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Typo?**

I love the developers' well-being factor, which I couldn't find in any other tool.
This tool has that as a unique feature where they talk about productivity & developer's mental health too.
Also, the principle used for driving productivity is the SPACE principle which is the new way of calculating a developer's productivity instead of counting the number of code lines.
The alerts tell you about anything going against the goals instantly. Their notifications are smart & typo is really a total game-changer for developers.

**What do you dislike about Typo?**

I am thrilled with the tool & the fast implementations they do. Every week they have something new on the dashboard. They are building typo so nicely, well-thought & at great speed.
I am in love with the team & awe of the product. However, if asked what I don't like they should have a weekly report about how my team did. It can be an improvement or even deterioration but the report will be very helpful. I don't know if it's already part of their pipeline but it will be very insightful to present to my seniors, and business team & further.

**What problems is Typo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly it is helping me improve the CI/CD metrics for ongoing work. Along with that my team really feels secure with the score because as I mentioned it used the SPACE framework which we discussed post-pandemic to implement but couldn't do it. typo has helped us immensely to implement a culture of feedback & productivity smoothly.
Love the product & the team :)

By creating different investment categories such as features, tech debt, bugs, maintenance work, and more, the tool automatically tags all our pull requests accordingly. It gives us a Project-level analysis as well. This has provided us with significant visibility into our engineering efforts and helped us stay aligned with our business goals. Kudos to the typo team for creating such an awesome tool.

The implementation of working agreements enhances our time to delivery by improving overall efficiency. Additionally, the seamless integration with Slack enhances team communication and collaboration.
