An app that does exactly what the name says! The vetting process was comforting to know so much about the person prior to hiring them & leaving them alone in and/or with our most prized & loved items: our homes & our pets **What do you dislike about TrustedHousesitters?** Some sitters use this site to get paid to travel, I'm not sure how I feel about that, it's not so much of a dislike on my part, maybe its jealousy? lol I guess for someone retired or who works remotely this could be a way to earn $ sitting while you are also working remotely or vacationing as well **Recommendations to others considering TrustedHousesitters:** Be very detailed in postings both as a sitter and as a homeowner looking for a sitter. The posts with the most information and many pictures get alot of clicks, I mean having the most information possible for a decision like this is a going to be a plus no matter what. **What problems is TrustedHousesitters solving and how is that benefiting you?** This is the problem where people may not know their neighbors to ask to watch the home while they are away or reluctant to ask family or friends to do it. This is one way you can solve both the pet sitting and house sitting issues at once. ### 2. Also, the ease of use of the website itself was great. The interface was easy to understand and navigate, and I found what I needed relatively easy. **What do you dislike about TrustedHousesitters?** I don't feel the gig workers have as many background checks as it may seem. I spoke with a few, and it would seem as though most would fluff their experience or not understand fully why they would consider themselves an expert. Like one person said, "I love animals." I love animals too, but that doesn't mean I know how to take care of each breeds' specific needs and what not. I'm also not a massive fan of the monthly cost. This is gig work, and I understand server needs and admin oversight but build that into the services fees, not a monthly payment. **Recommendations to others considering TrustedHousesitters:** I would recommend it for people living in metro areas that take a lot of vacations. **What problems is TrustedHousesitters solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are just locating options for trips we take out of state to watch our dog. ### 3. It would not go through my facebook account and then I tried my email and it didn't actually respond to that either. **Recommendations to others considering TrustedHousesitters:** Please make it more easily accessible to sign in and create an account from the beginning! **What problems is TrustedHousesitters solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have realized that there are not many in my designated area. I need to add a 25-50 mile radius to find proper caretakers. I do enjoy thoroughly reading the responses so I can correctly choose who I will schedule a meet and greet with and who to skip past. ### 4. I always wondered when someone would come up with a brilliant solution to such a common issue! I've had 2 housesitters, all of which were amazing. The app is straightforward to use, straight forward, and overall has a great system in place to look for trusted people to watch my pets and home. I will continue to refer people to it - both sitters and pet owners! **What do you dislike about TrustedHousesitters?** I wish you could set up multiple listings (ie: I have 2 homes, a vacation home, and a permanent home), or even when I bought a new house, I wanted to keep the old listing in another city and set up another property without a new account. **What problems is TrustedHousesitters solving and how is that benefiting you?** It makes traveling with pets so much less burdensome. Whenever we want to travel, we just post the home and we get applicants right away! I trust that they are vetted. I don't have to pay hundreds of dollars anymore for house/pet sitters! Airbnb meets Rover, I love it. ### 5. I have used this service before and I trust almost everyone on this app with my pets. I also like how you can view other people's reviews and see who is the best fit for you. **What do you dislike about TrustedHousesitters?** I don't like how Almost anybody can become a sitter because I feel like it is important that some people do not become sitters only because of their past. I understand this is how it is with almost every job but Sometimes I just feel nervous about it. Other than that, its a good app! **What problems is TrustedHousesitters solving and how is that benefiting you?** I realized that I can basically find a sitter for any event at any time and won't have to worry about the expenses like it would be like bringing them to a business to be watched. My pets can stay happy in the comfort of my own home without anxiety. ### 6. It's a win-win for both sides. The sitter gets to stay in a place without paying for the cost of lodging, and whoever looks for sitters have a convenient way of hunting for sitters without paying for exorbitant fees. **What do you dislike about TrustedHousesitters?** Better user experience, wish there were more filters. **What problems is TrustedHousesitters solving and how is that benefiting you?** My husband and I reserved a house to sit in SF where we traveled for fun. We saved a lot of bucks because we didn't need a hotel to stay, and we got to stay in an exquisite place in exchange for minimal responsibility. ### 7. As someone who loves to travel, it's been fun for me to house sit in places that are fun and new to me. Plus, it makes the world feel smaller and more personal, and that's always a nice bonus. **What do you dislike about TrustedHousesitters?** Unless you have a subscription to Trusted Housesitters, you'll only be able to see minimal information. It makes sense, but I wish more information was available to users before requiring them to purchase a membership. **What problems is TrustedHousesitters solving and how is that benefiting you?** If you have a pet and want someone to watch your house without having to compensate the caregiver, this is an awesome platform. The same is true of those looking to housesit. If you want to stay in a new location for free and also happen to love animals, this is an awesome solution. ### 8. I really like how easy it was to get started and how you know you are getting reputable sitters. **What do you dislike about TrustedHousesitters?** It is a pretty expensive service that you have to make sure you will use to make it worth the membership fee. It is worth it knowing you are getting serious sitters/houses; however, it's not a cheap service to get started with in my opinion. **What problems is TrustedHousesitters solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have been able to be matched with other homeowners that need someone to help watch their house or pets while they are out of town. It helps with accommodations and for homeowners to have someone watch over their home for security and ease of mind. ### 9. My pet doesn't like being left alone especially since COVID spoiled him with work from home. App was easy to find too. **What do you dislike about TrustedHousesitters?** Requires membership. Kind of a double edged sword. People tend to be more committed when ensuring its set behind a pay wall but who wants to pay for something they aren't sure of. **What problems is TrustedHousesitters solving and how is that benefiting you?** My dog is very prone to separation anxiety so it's hard to leave him for long. With help, my wife and I can take weekends trips or even day trips. Might even help when we go to the hospital for delivery. ### 10. I love that I can apply for sits and meet pet owners around the world. The community is generally very friendly and willing to help ensure you have a great stay while caring for their animals. Since the services are free for both parties (besides the fee to use the site), I find that everyone is very generous and kind and not micro-managing. The team behind the site is also very involved in making sure that the site is safe and that any issues are fixed (e.g. they offer insurance to cover the cost of accommodation in the event of a cancelled sits, or in the event that anything of value is broken) **What do you dislike about TrustedHousesitters?** I did have one bad housesit experience and unfortunately, the site has a reputation where everyone gives the sit a 5-star review or NO review. You will not find any 3-star reviews. As a consequence, it can be hard to gauge if a housesit is a good fit. I ended up doing a sit where the woman wanted to stay a few days after I arrived to make sure I walked the dogs properly (which included a morning walk, a 2-hour mid-day hike, and an evening walk). She also told me not to leave the dogs alone for any amount of time (which makes sightseeing an impossibility). The level of care she was expecting was above what we had discussed in the call. I still left her a 5-star review but made sure to tell future sitters exactly what the sit was like. **What problems is TrustedHousesitters solving and how is that benefiting you?** Wanting to have a place to stay while traveling or working remotely. Wanting to get plugged into a community of locals wherever I travel. Wanting to be around and care for pets. ### 11. The Home and Contents protection is a further stress reducer. **What do you dislike about TrustedHousesitters?** I've found it all pretty easy to use. The fee is reasonable in my opinion. No real negatives yet. **Recommendations to others considering TrustedHousesitters:** There's no better way to find a reliable sitter for your pet. Aside from user ratings and verification of the sitters, you can connect with them before hiring them to get their 'vibe'- it adds an extra level of confidence. **What problems is TrustedHousesitters solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use TrustedHousesitters to find petsitters for my pup. Having moved to a new state, I don't have any local friends/family established yet, so this service has been a life saver. ### 12.
