It is a very complete text editor, designed to navigate, edit and work on projects of any size quickly and easily. In our company it allows us to create custom compilation chains, which is really useful to us. It is a very powerful software, a useful tool to open almost any file that contains text or code, however, it does not contain a highly developed interface, personally it is quite obsolete in terms of graphics, so it can be diagnosed that its development it is a bit stagnant, it does not allow extensive customization and its configuration is scarce. I love the line numbering,the versatility of this program whether i am reading a article or lines of code this program delivers the ability to edit and view pretty much anything. Earlier I was using notepad and then later wordpad for editing and viewing text files like Internet drafts / RFC which need to be written as XML documents. TextPad makes it easy to write new documents or edit existing ones and highlights the keywords - which makes it easier to identity the begin and end of XML tags and thus helping identify any XML validation errors. I have been using TextPad for many years now - primarily to look at the position of records in a text file, compare files and to make notes while working on my day to day assignments. When you go to search for a word and do a CTRL F, if you hit enter it goes to the first occurrence of your search. If you hit enter again, it doesn't go to the next occurrence but instead it enters a new line. This is pretty annoying that you have to use your mouse to click next instead.
