Nothing really, it's a very capable app, and it is free. Actually, there is an option under one of the menus to add a license key, but if you choose to go to the shop to buy a license you simply get a page saying "licenses are not available for purchase" which is kind of weird. Maybe there's a plan one day to add licensing. Anyhow, right now that's probably the only thing I dislike and even that is trite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I am a senior developer and I have been using Textmate for quite a long time. As Notepad++ is not available on macOS, this is the best alternative that anyone can think of. There is a number of options that allows you to customize the editor for any of your needs. I found the multiple Carets option really useful as it will allow you to make changes at multiple places at once. Also, there is File Search, Macros, Bundles, and more. Surely, just as it happens to me, it also happens with other users, that the software tool we are most involved with in our business daily life is the code editor. I have been implementing it for several years, its versatility on the Mac platform has been to my liking and pleasure. It is worth highlighting that this robust and very complete editor has greatly contributed, it has multi-language support that is also extensible through bundles. Possibly one of the biggest attractions of its extension system is that they can be written in any language, so you can automate some common tasks in your editor using your favorite programming language. There is something specific that I will review below and the sole reason I will express for why I do not like this program. Since I have been using it, I have encountered programmatic discomfort as Textmate significantly slows down my large files when I need to process them. In my opinion, Textmate is the best code editor currently available. It is my main tool for software and web development. It has nothing to envy from other text editors such as Atom, Microsoft's Visual Studio Code, or BBEdit. Its interface is intuitive, elegant, and user-friendly. Since they became open source, innovative features have gradually been added, making it very easy to use compared to competitors. I like Textmate because it is a complex and very robust programming tool, which I like because it has modules that are very helpful for starting to program.
