## TestFit Reviews
  ### 1. TestFit is really great!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kirubaharan N. | Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2024

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

It was easy to use throughout my work, with several features that made it easy to implement any action or requirement. I have regularly used TestFit. The Customer Support is also amazing. With multiple features, the webpage easily integrates everything.

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

Not so much to say in here, it is perfect as it is.

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TestFit addresses major urban planning pain points such as "time-consuming iterations, data overloads, and inefficient collaboration" by automating feasibility studies, integrating zoning and GIS data, and visualizing designs in real-time. It will benefit you by showing how optimization and rapid prototyping principles can change workflows, things not so different from your expertise in CAD and CFD. This resonance might inspire creative ways you could apply your experience to bigger challenges in design and engineering.

  ### 2. Social housing development with testfit

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

The act is that different configuration can be generated and compared so seamlessly.

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

Circulation at the end of corridor is not supported.

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To generate and estimate the number of units and users on a specific site before the design phase begins.

  ### 3. Uniquely useful and powerful tool for building modeling

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamin K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

We use TestFit as urban planners. Given varying assumptions, we run preliminary feasibility analyses to test how many units can fit on a site. The tool is the most comprehensive and accurate way to do this type of analysis that we have found yet. It was relatively easy to learn and use. We link it up with our financial pro-forma models to test financial feasibility.

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

I am hoping that TestFit continues to expand the library of building prototypes. I would love to see more "missing middle" housing types built into the tool, including cottage cluster housing, courtyard apartments, etc. The tool is not as well suited for modeling very small residential infill sites - such as less than 15,000 square feet. I'd also like to see them create a tuck-under parking building model.

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TestFit automates the manual process of testing development feasibility. It saves us many hours of manual work. It also produces more precise and accurate models than we can do with manual tools, like SketchUp. This allows us to run more scenarios and alternatives for every project. It also creates better, more accurate basic massing visuals than we can do manually.

  ### 4. If You're Not Using TestFit For Pre-Design, You're Doing It Wrong

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric B. | BIM Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

Incredibly fast for Pre-Design when analyzing a site and a project's metrics. Very strong development team in the midst of continual updates and new features. Very easy to use, but somewhat limited in the out-of-the-box solutions. The real power is learning to manually edit the solutions and combine them in novel ways to achieve an excellent early result that saves time when moving into SD, DD and beyond. Unit templates for multi-family projects can be customized to match your firm's standards and enhance productivity further. When learning the software, it is very easy to ask for an expert to provide one-on-one training. Instead of using AI to create a multitude of options, TestFit solves for just one that can be developed in standard software. Well ahead of SpaceMaker's feature set, which was recently bought by Autodesk.

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

Standard solutions are a bit limiting in adjustability, but most items are customizable. Specializes in low and high-density housing and industrial uses, but others can be added manually through the massing tools. Waiting for more features from this young start-up company LOL! (Note: TestFit has had no problem securing venture capital to fund significant growth which is ongoing)

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TestFit excels at the pre-design stage where it can quickly generate floorplates, stairs and elevators locations, unit counts, area and cost calculations, parking requirements, aerial imagery, parcel boundaries, contours, 3D model context of adjacent buildings, roads, trees, etc. All of this information updates on the fly as the user manipulates it on the site. Once the design is accepted, it can be exported and moved into your main production platform such as Revit. There are some limitations in being able to edit programmed solutions, but in most cases you should be able to get close to what you want by using manual edit modes.

  ### 5. Great App for Residential Developers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yasir A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

Automated design adjustment, cost and revenue quick calculation, moving between design options with ease, I am really impressed by the fact it has worldwide topoghraphic maps.

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

I can only add one entrance for the project, cannot add half floor, As commercial & retail developer I find it difficult to make complex layouts to the software, As the software is new it definetly needs tooltips for each field (can use same concept as Autodesk Revit's tool tip).

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem i had was parking planning, this was time consuming but with Testfit this could be done in few minutes. Also, Testfit could be binificial during brainstorming session where we usually set and decide which project is the best for the intended site.

  ### 6. Very useful as a marketing tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

The ability to show clients we understand the standards and rules of multifamily in a fast-paced modeling session. We find that developer clients are very interested in it but can get frustrated if the outputs aren't what they expect.

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

The modeling can still be tricky and cumbersome, although it has improved. The output data cannot be personalized. We want to export specific data and separate site data on a multi-site Testfit. Ultimately, I often have to manually replicate the output data to show what we want it to show.

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly looking at unit mixes and the associated massing. Quickly providing clients with development yield numbers in order to support their due dilligence.

  ### 7. Still listening

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stefani R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

The customer service. Being able to hop on a call for specific questions or approaches is very helpful. I like that the company is still nimble enough to integrate specific development tasks and constantly improve the program's capabilities.

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

More complex multiple building studies more like "SiteFit" would be helpful. I find that I am always trying to figure out work arounds to get to what is helpful, so I haven't been able to complete a study solely within Testfit yet and typically use it to test out general configurations, etc.

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Increasing typologies. Control over depth of wrap at different levels to allow commercial at grade and MF units above would be awesome

  ### 8. Absurdly useful software for the right users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** michael f. | BIM Manager / Project Captain, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

It's easy enough for most users who would find the output information valuable to be able to pick up and get initial coarse go/no go intelligence, but has the complexity available to drive much more complex design constraint decisions easy to make and iterate around.

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

There are some use cases that it hasn't (yet) gotten around to developing a workflow for. But they keep ticking those off the list and improving the software - almost to the point that it's hard to keep up with changes.

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TestFit allows us to work through several client challenges in a significantly more rapid fashion than traditional workflows. We can take a proposed site and with just an address run go/no go unit count and coarse code requirement analysis for multiple building types in minutes with the confidence that they're very accurate. From there, we can then use it to play with building massing and layout in several different relevant styles to deal with more broad building and site design choices. We can either take that and drop that directly into Revit, or we can further refine our design or specific parts of it within the TestFit/Revit interactions and use that to rapidly populate our Revit model.

  ### 9. Terrific Program

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

We utilize the program to provide due diligence on the speculation of land and potential future projects. It serves as a marketing tool with our potential clients too!

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

We generally utilize it in real-time with the client. This serves us best to make visual adjustments, etc. The printed output is not the best and doesn't make, in my opinion, the best handouts for clients to walk away with.

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The speed to bring a visual rendering is where we best utilize TestFit. The client quickly sees how we could develop the land or check on the maximum available building area.

  ### 10. Overall very positive. The functionality is pretty good. Training Sessions are spot on

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

Ability to comb through deals at a much faster pace. The efficiency of knowing how many units you can fit on a site in a few minutes compared to weeks waiting on architects.

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

Feels very clunky. I wish there were more design options available. I.E. ability to put pools on roofs and get a little more intricate with some design detail.

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Again, knowing how many units you can fit on a site in a brief period allows us to be quicker than other developers. We can have a complete financial model with a site in one day.

  ### 11. Interesting new programme!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

Ease & speed of use, will make my role much more efficient in the future. It seems to be extremely powerful and takes away the manual, iterative process of coming up with an efficient site plan.

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

The downsides are the availability of UK mapping, making it more difficult to define accurate site boundaries, which is a major downside. Also, we have to best match our product to the existing library, whereas it would be more beneficial to be able to design & save bespoke unit types & sizes.

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maximising efficiency in site layouts is improving our investment appraisals, in the future this should improve our profit margins. This is also a massive time saver, so employees time can be used elsewhere.

**Official Response from Alexine Gordon-Stewart:**

> Glad you're getting value out of TestFit! If you'd like to have bespoke unit sizes, that is one of the key parts of our MultiFamily feasibility capabilities. You can create your own Unit Database and have TestFit use those Units during site layout. Check out our knowledgebase.

  ### 12. User friendly and provides the information you need

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

I like how quick the program is in the initial building of a density study. This gives us a good idea of what we can fit on certain properties so we can either dive deeper or move on to the next one.

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

There are some minor bugs I have been working with the TestFit team with and my TI to figure out. Since this is a newer software it is still something we have yet to figure out and diminishes the productivity of the product a bit.

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TestFit allows us to run quick density studies without exhausting the resources of our architecture department. This also allows us to make quick decisions on projects that otherwise would've taken days to figure out.

  ### 13. Director of Design and Construction for a real estate development company

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark V. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

Easy of use, direct access to site information, ability to quickly review multiple building types. Speed is unmatched. Mixed-use tool has limited data reporting

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

Saveing is complex, different proejcts, different schemes, different financial data, so many variables its a little challanging to save work in a single interation. additionally, the save as/export to PDF functions are a bit low quality

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

as a developer, quickly evaluating iterations of sites is critical. the ability to mass multiple schemes on a site quickly is very powerful.

  ### 14. Efficient Site Planning

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abigail K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

TestFit helps with efficient site planning; allowing us to quickly review potential sites and update in real time per client feedback. All of our clients have enjoyed the presentations & site plans created and we are excited to grow our implementation of the program.

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

As with a startup company, there are some bugs in the program, but TestFit is quick to address and continue to roll out updates to improve.

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working in multi-family architecture, studying sites for feasibility and potential density takes a large amount of time. TestFit is helping us streamline this process to become more efficient, but also allows us opportunities to test more options than we would when drawing manually.

  ### 15. Testfit has been helpful overall although has room for improvement that I'm hoping can be addressed

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angel G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

The quickness of allocating areas is what I like most about Testfit. The rapid option available for schemes is pretty powerful for me.

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

Although has improved some, I still very much dislike how buggy the program is and how sticky a lot of the manual edit mode is.

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps save time after I've already assessed the site and works as a tool to quickly gather high level building metrics

  ### 16. The Title Says It All

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

Test Fit gives us a quick, confident analysis on the potential opportunity for multifamily housing while providing massing which gives the reader a sense of scale.

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

The application can be glitchy and doesn't work well (yet!) with pre-loaded unit plans. The snaps in Manual mode can be aggressive and leaves opportunity on the table.

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Analysis of capacity for multi-family apartments and the associated parking (per zoning ordinance) for a potential site.

  ### 17. Review: Test Fit

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

Test fit is an easy way of computing a layout than in AutoCAD. Easy to learn program.

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

. It does have some kinks that need to be worked through, but I have been working with the TestFit team to work through any issues.

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves how many lots can for inside a property and how much LF of road is roughly needed to create the layout.

  ### 18. A simple and well-developed tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Asvin A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

Simplicity and well-designed functions within the app allowed me to focus on testfitting exercises rather learning how to use the tool.

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

Not much downsides. However there should be some customisations to help with the site setbacks requirement, adjusting densities of the green spaces etc.

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick masterplanning for a site with minimal input and fast capex estimates. This process may take hours doing it traditionally and this solution does it within an hour or less.

  ### 19. Test Fit has been very useful for initial site layouts.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Targee T. | Land Acquisition, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about TestFit?**

Test Fit makes it easy to lay out a site plan, without waiting on architects.

**What do you dislike about TestFit?**

Is can be clunky and hard to use for some locations/sites.

**What problems is TestFit solving and how is that benefiting you?**
