## Steep Reviews
 ### 1. Seamless, User-Friendly UI with Cutting-Edge Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sophie A. | Head of Data & Insights, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Steep?**

The UI is seamless and user-friendly for all levels. Development is quick, and the product keeps delivering state-of-the-art new features. It’s one of the most straightforward BI tools to implement and use, and it ties in perfectly with a modern data stack. Support has been amazing. We’ve massively increased company-wide engagement with metrics on a daily basis, and the integration has been seamless throughout.

**What do you dislike about Steep?**

It’s a product that’s still in development, so there may be some limitations. That said, this feels like the natural trade-off that comes with building a very simple, easy-to-use BI tool.

**What problems is Steep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It supports business performance evaluation by visualising different data sources in one place and bringing people of all levels of data literacy in touch with the right metrics. It feels truly self-service and requires only limited hand-holding for business users. At the same time, it doesn’t lock data or metrics away, and it seamlessly allows you to export data for further analysis or integrate the semantic layer with other systems and tools.

 ### 2. Extremely Easy Self-Service Analytics That Looks Great for Stakeholders

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon H. | Director of BI & Analytics, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Steep?**

Extremely easy to use self-service that looks great for business stakeholders.
Centers the data culture around Governed Metrics rather than Dashboards.
Very easy to setup and maintain for the analytics team.
Per-metric CTE query structure makes it easy to create derived metrics across multiple datasets.

**What do you dislike about Steep?**

If you don't have a well-governed data and metrics layer, it will not be a good experience.
It's still lacking some enterprise features to enable more granular access controls.

**What problems is Steep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moving from a Dashboard centric data culture to a Metrics-first data culture.
Faster implementations of new data to stakeholders.
True self-serve culture where non-data stakeholders easy creates their own reporting.

 ### 3. Beautiful UI, But Limited Functionality

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mathias B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Steep?**

I find Steep very easy for everyone to see the data, with its very beautiful tool look and feel that I like the most. The simple user interface makes it easy to build and create reports, which I find valuable.

**What do you dislike about Steep?**

It's very basic, you can't do anything advanced like calculating things or viewing large amounts of data. The API is basic, and it's very locked, mostly a tool for simple use. It can't integrate with other tools.

**What problems is Steep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Steep is easy for everyone to see data, offers a beautiful look and feel, and makes it simple to build reports. However, it's basic, lacks advanced features, can't handle large data, and doesn't integrate with other tools.

 ### 4. Powerful and simple to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rasmus H. | Data Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Steep?**

Powerful, yet still simple to use. The graphs and reports are beautiful and easy to comprehend.

**What do you dislike about Steep?**

Some details are missing in filters. For example NOT x, or numerical filtering (less than X). Would wish for more table-style output options ("give me all orders from March" type questions).

**What problems is Steep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On our data team, we can focus more on defining metrics and dimensions, and less on building visualizations. That way, report creation can be handled by the consumers themselves.

 ### 5. Easy to Use With Plenty of Flexible Choices

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristofer M. | Customer Success Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Steep?**

easy to use, simple, quick, like the fact now that we can share with customers

**What do you dislike about Steep?**

could be a company setup, but sometimes its to many choices to make- sometimes this is key, sometimes when you dont know exactly how to find a kpi or data point you know its many choices. would be nice with an AI assistant to tell what you want to see, then get in writing exactly what data the graph or table its based on

**What problems is Steep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

quick help in commercial discussions

 ### 6. Easy to Use, Mobile-Friendly, Metrics-First

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Guilherme D. | Development Team Lead, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Steep?**

How easy it is to use, the fact that it is available on mobile platforms as well, and its metrics-first approach.

**What do you dislike about Steep?**

It could be more customizable and it will not be the ideal tool for more advanced use cases

**What problems is Steep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing access to metrics and quick reports at light speed to everyone in my organization

 ### 7. Simple Yet Powerful Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isak B. | Manager Data & Insights, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Steep?**

The simplicity of the tool and still how powerful it is

**What do you dislike about Steep?**

There are things missing when using the dbt semantic layer which is present in Steep semantic layer. For example working with entities and cohorts

**What problems is Steep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal transparency and self-service analytics which takes a load of questions from us in the data team
