I've been using Red-Gate Toolbelt for about 15 years. They changed how I develop. Between syncing structures from environment to environment (SQL Compare), to syncing metadata between environments (SQL Data Compare)... to writing good, nicely formatted SQL quickly (SQL Prompt).... I don't do SQL work without out. Working with other relational databases (like PostGres) just isn't as fast without these incredible tools I have in the SQL Server space.
I also like how your license "follows the person," so I can install the tools in all the places I work without licensing noise. Very nice move. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
You get what you pay for. Red-Gate isn't cheap, and you end up giving Red-Gate tools to your best and most productive people (because they'll get the most value). Ironically, this only increased the gap between your best and lease productive people and something to be mindful of when buying tools for your staff! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

SQL Compare and SQL Data compare make our lives so much easier. By using SQL Compare, I can easily identify the modification in database structure between the production database and the development database. With a few clicks, I can modify the database or add tables. functions, view, and stored procedures.
SQL Datacompare helps me to view the data difference between two databases. By clicking the deploy button I can easily move data from one database to another database according to my requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The price of the SQL toolbelt is on the higher side. Sometimes it takes time to load databases, especially from backup files. Other wise there Is no issue or drawbacks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The SQL Toolbelt by Redgate Software in my a opinion is good little starter set for when you want to get up and running an SQL shop. It has the wizardry of scripting. It does versioning and also schema orientation, safeguarding of integrity--bookkeeping. DB Administration It is a nice set of modules that can be installed easily and it is good for the novice or mid level knowledge of the database world. It does alot for this. The only thing I can think of and it is not anything bad, folks that are db savvy or expert level may find this to be basic for them The folks we have that fits this criteria like to write their own modules. They like to get behind the scenes and see how it accomplishes it's tasks. Nothing really about it to dislike. It is a good package. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the SQL Compare and SQL Data compare tools.
1. It is used to compare the data between 2 different database structures
2. It is used to compare the data of each and every table of the database
3. It is used to deploy the bulk changes in a minute
4. Taking a backup of database is easy using SQL Backup Tool.
5. SQL Search is used to search for the table or procedure used in the database
6. SQL Prompt is very helpful while typing the table name and procedures.Intelligence works great in SQL prompt Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't think any thing is dislike. The price for the application is bit high when compared to other SQL software's.But the this will worth the cost . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

They have a comprehensive set of tools in their SQL Toolbelt that I use on a regular, almost daily basis. They are easy to use, and provide all the functionality I need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At this point, I can think of no particular aspect of the product that I dislike. I do believe that if I use the product long enough, I'll find things that I'd like to see changed. But so far, it has done everything I wanted it to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The breadth of options the tools provide is very nice and their support is responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The tools themselves can really hammer your machine. I by no means have a bleesing edge laptop but I know when it’s hardware vs software. The SQL Source Control tools really slows SSMS down. There are times when it will lock up for minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My personal best feature of the SQL Tool-belt is the fact that it has everything for everyone. From database administration such as server monitoring or backups, to development tools such as SQL Search and Dependency tracker, it makes all our tasks which usually take considerable amounts of hours to complete, seem so easy and ready in a couple of minutes. With SQL Compare, deployments that usually take hours to script and test now take a couple of minutes, having a rollback script included as part of the process to make every deployment as easy as possible. Even though this tool is amazing and there are really no weak points that effect my judgement on this tool, SQL Backup can become quite slow to load backup history which might become tedious when trying to view all backup history for a particular instance, especially if log shipping is in place. The SQL toolbelt is very powerful and includes multiple SQL related utilities. The UI's are a joy to use and is clean, easy to navigate and functional. SQL toolbelt includes many tools for both developers and your non-developers, depending on the tasks required. My dev team is able to complete SQL tasks much faster than before, and I am able to generate documentation that previously required more technically skilled individuals to use. There's not much to dislike, other than the sheer breadth of utilities and functions that take a while to learn where everything is located. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For a database developer who writes nothing else but queries all days long , Sql ToolBelt is a long awaited blessing. I started using it a year back, specially SQL Prompt and I no longer have to go through five steps to get create script for the objects. SQL Search and SQL Compare are another two products which helps me go extra mile every single day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Slightly overpriced for me. I never actually used licensed version till I landed in a big MNCs. Though I am using it at work, it is still difficult for me to get it for personal usage at home. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
