speaking.app Reviews & Product Details

speaking.app is an AI-powered public speaking and interview practice platform used by teams, training programs, and individuals to rehearse pitches, job interviews, presentations, and impromptu speaking. How it works: a user records or uploads a spoken response and receives AI speech analysis and coaching feedback on pacing (words per minute), pauses, filler words, repetition, weak words, rhetoric, structure, and clarity. A digital Ah-Counter supports Toastmasters-style filler word tracking. The Smart Rewrite feature detects which of 15 common speech frameworks (such as STAR, PREP, or Story Arc) a response most closely follows, scores how well it follows that structure, and produces a restructured version of the same answer. Pitch practice: a dedicated pitch analysis maps a startup or investor pitch to the 13 elements investors listen for (from the hook and problem through traction, the ask, and vision) and rates each element as strong, adequate, weak, or missing. The analysis includes an investor-style verdict ranging from "Strong Yes" to "Pass", flags hedging and minimizing language that undermines credibility, and rewrites the pitch into a complete investor flow using only the speaker's own facts. Interview practice: a built-in library provides more than 1,400 practice questions across 90+ curated sets: mock interview and behavioral interview questions for specific companies (for example Amazon, Google, Meta, McKinsey, and Goldman Sachs), roles (product manager, software engineer, consultant), accelerator interviews (Y Combinator, Techstars), and graduate admissions (MBA, medical school, law school). Users can also publish and share their own question sets. Free tools: speaking.app also offers two tools that need no account. A speech timer with Toastmasters-style green, yellow, and red timing lights (speaking.app/tools/speech-timer), and a live filler-word tap counter, or Ah-Counter, that tracks a whole room of speakers and shares a report (speaking.app/practice/filler-counter). Champions Library: speaking.app maintains a free public library of famous speeches and startup pitches analyzed with the same engine, at speaking.app/speeches. Who uses it: startup founders preparing for demo day and investor Q&A, job seekers preparing for behavioral interviews, Toastmasters members tracking filler words, and professionals rehearsing high-stakes presentations. Organizations such as accelerators, universities, and coaching firms run structured practice programs with an administrator or coach dashboard to manage seats, assign practice, and track participant progress. What it is not: speaking.app is rehearsal software used before a real interview, pitch, or presentation. It is not a live in-call assistant and does not feed answers to a speaker during a real conversation. Platform and plans: speaking.app runs in the web browser with no installation, supports English, and is made by Prosody Ltd (Dublin, Ireland). Plans include a free tier, individual Pro subscriptions at $19.99 per month or $99.99 per year, per-seat Workspace plans for teams, and one-time Pro Passes for cohorts.
