The good quality it produce when rendering is just wonderful

**What do you dislike about Kerkythea?**

Not a dislike but a request, it's missing a feature which is supporting other platforms for architects like revit for instance.. that would be a game changer for many users

Saving my time with renders that may take more time on other rendering engines

  ### 4. Kerkythea is simply amazing!!

**What do you like best about Kerkythea?**

It is a freeware software. The materials in Kerkythea are of excellent quality and accurate. It availability across platforms. It really helps in saving time and money for producing decent render quality. It's very efficient with it's time taken to render. As a Sketch-up user I can say it's helpful and easy to render models produced in Sketch-up. The compatibility of the software is amazing even though it is a bit limited.

**What do you dislike about Kerkythea?**

Right now I feel like it's really helpful for only sketch-up and 3Ds Max user. It'll be great if they supported other format to import. It's interface is little tricky to get used. And it takes time to get in flow with the interface of the software.

**Recommendations to others considering Kerkythea:**

Excellent software for those who are just entering the rendering world. I would say just close your eyes and try the software. The more you use, the more you will understand what the software is and what it is capable of. I am sure yo will definitely fall in love with the software soon. As a Sketch-up user I can say it's helpful and easy to render models produced in Sketch-up. The compatibility of the software is amazing even though it is a bit limited. Have a wonderful Kerkythea experience.

**What problems is Kerkythea solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cost and time for producing decent presentable Renders. It is a decent and amazing render engine for those who are just starting with render software.

  ### 5. What an amazing Service.

**What do you like best about Kerkythea?**

Their commitment towards the work given to them.

**What do you dislike about Kerkythea?**

Sometimes they provide too many good options which becomes very hard to choose from! haha. IT's great!

**What problems is Kerkythea solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm Looking for a g0od renderar for my projects or I can see their renders as references and learn many important things related!

  ### 6. Over a decade old, still holds it own (within reason)!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel B. | Architectural Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Kerkythea?**

Always a fan of free software, but love the fact that if you install the SketchUp plugin, just a few clicks (and a bit of a wait depending on the processing power at your disposal) gets you an image with SketchUp-consistent mapping and global illumination to boot.

**What do you dislike about Kerkythea?**

The 2008 version is the last free version before the developers branched out into making Thea Render. As I remember, it is a significant jump up from the 2007 version, but still is somewhat clunky as a piece of software by today’s standards. The integration with the Windows shell would be a major bugbear for many. Try to look past this and remember that Kerky 08 is very old... and very free.

**Recommendations to others considering Kerkythea:**

Thea Render is the current software produced by the creators of Kerkythea; look at the reasonably-priced packages they have if you are considering Kerkythea. Was outstanding for me at the time it was released, but there are so many options available today for rendering 3D work (including several in real-time), it is definitely worth getting stuck into a few trial versions rather than just reading reviews like mine!

**What problems is Kerkythea solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Again, with the last version being 2008 Echo, I don’t think anyone is solving any problems with KT. The connectivity with SketchUp is still good in my opinion, but other render programs such as Twilight also have free versions that, being far more up-to-date, operate much more closely with SketchUp, neatly as a pop-up window in the versions that I had used.

KT was great for lighting models however. A costly solution like V-Ray may be more versatile and generate renders more quickly, but the robustness and flexibility of the lighting tools on KT means it would be my chosen free renderer for interior card models (until I get the time really getting into Twinmotion). Simply being able to preview HDR images in the software might be enough of a reason to install it for some.

Although I never got to use this in a professional capacity, the facility to render an animation frame-by-frame, using network machines, sounded useful, as much then as it might be now. The main benefits I realised myself were the ability to show - albeit on a fairly rudimentary level - the efficacy of a lighting arrangement on an interior without too much outlay time-wise (and zero layout cash-wise).

  ### 7. Its good to use

**What do you like best about Kerkythea?**

Rendering quality is really good as compared to other

**What do you dislike about Kerkythea?**

Rendering takes time in low configuration pcs.

**What problems is Kerkythea solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It also helps to synchronize multiple files at on location

  ### 8. Great for Realistic Renders

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Kerkythea?**

The outcomes and end renders on Kerkythea are really high quality. The program has great materials and outputs.

**What do you dislike about Kerkythea?**

The program takes a little adjusting to get used to. Like most rendering programs understanding the program does have a learning curve and would reccomend a video tutorial. It is also more compatable with some programs better than others.

**Recommendations to others considering Kerkythea:**

Like all rendering processors, look into many to see your needs. This one is more compatable with Sketch up and other programs.

**What problems is Kerkythea solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This program is great for visualization and understanding 3-D spaces and video creation for clients.

  ### 9. Easy to use rendering software

  ### 11. Great open source software for designers.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Róger Z. | Freelance Industrial Designer, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2016

**What do you like best about Kerkythea?**

I like the fact that a freeware can actually throw you back great renders and visualizations as good as the ones you can get in +1K softwares. I also like it's compatibility, even though it's a bit limited you can use other free softwares like SketchUp or blender as a "bridge" to get really nice renders. When I was an active Kerkythea user I used to export my models from rhinos to blender and then to Kerkythea.

**What do you dislike about Kerkythea?**

I dislike the fact that its interface is not really intuitive, so it takes a long time to get confortable with the software. I also dislike the fact that this software as many other freewares just don't look good. I guess it's related to the fact that it's an open software but considering its a design-related software, a little more effort on the interface should be done.

**What problems is Kerkythea solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefit is basically the price, it's a decent render engine for those who are starting and just can not afford big name softwares. I actually got into Kerkythea a while a go, my boss got really impressed on first week on a new job because I was able to 3D model, render and retouch some amazing images (SketchUp/Kerkythea/TheGimp) before they even bought my software licenses.

  ### 12. Great for more realistic renderings

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2016

**What do you like best about Kerkythea?**

I like how realistic it can make a Sketchup View look. Between the varying levels of light and surface reflectivity, and the different materials you can add, you can really balance shade and shadow and light.

**What do you dislike about Kerkythea?**

It does take a lot of processing power and time. We would often let it run for a few hours on a separate computer untouched.

**Recommendations to others considering Kerkythea:**

Take a tutorial and play around a lot. Don't be afraid to export a lot of quick test views before doing a large file, high resolution end view.

**What problems is Kerkythea solving and how is that benefiting you?**

These views really do make a difference when trying to convey the realism of a site. We don't use any BIM modeling software at our firm so this is the closest we come to being able to render a 3D view that sells a project.
