## About Sleuth
Sleuth helps Engineering leaders achieve business alignment and ensure predictable delivery with operational excellence. It does that by offering all three key components of a highly successful Engineering metrics program: Metrics, Reviews, and Automations. Metrics that Sleuth delivers include quantitative ones such as DORA metrics, as well as qualitative ones such as DevEx score that fit frameworks like SPACE. Reviews are Sleuth's secret sauce for turning metric insights into real outcomes and ultimately business value. Examples of Reviews include: monthly State of Engineering check-ins, resource allocation planning, operations reviews, sprint reviews, and more. Sleuth provides pre-built, auto-populated, and AI-powered templates and a code review-like collaboration workflow to make such Reviews painless and productive. Automations allows you to improve both developer productivity and developer experience simultaneously, while also ensuring the data gathered for Metrics is clean and accurate. ## Sleuth Reviews
 ### 1. Sleuth for engineering metric

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua N. | Sr. Director of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Sleuth helped Jackpocket measure the changes the changes we wanted to make when we realized we needed to get faster and safer releasing code. In the early stages of our devops journey we had a lot of ideas on how to move to faster releases and smaller batch size but it was measuring that really made the difference.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

I don't think there are any downsides of using DORA metrics. The biggest issue I had was making sure the source of incidents was accurate.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sleuth gave me a snapshot of the health of all my teams. DORA metrics are a much clearer representation of team productivity and health than something like story points and sprint reports Each sprint the teams can look at the metrics and take action on what went wrong or continue to make the process better.

 ### 2. Sleuth makes DORA metrics (and more!) easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Todd R. | Staff Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

If you've read Accelerate, you know the importance of DORA metrics. Sleuth makes tracking these metrics easy. Sleuth has integrations available for all the tools we use, so we never have to think about tracking. We just follow our normal devops workflow and check the dashboard to see how we're doing.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Sleuth is a very specialized tool, designed mainly for tracking DORA metrics.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Sleuth to give us a reality check on how our migration into a devops workflow is going. It allows us to easily see our DORA metrics and make changes where necessary.
In addition, we use the integrations in Sleuth to guard releases. We can release to a pre-production environment and have Sleuth halt promotion to prod if there are any issues.

 ### 3. DORA metrics at your hands

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juan Felipe M. | Solutions architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Setting it up is super easy and the automations add a lot of value that provide fast feedback to the dev teams when they are impacting their DORA metrics.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

The automation marketplace had a huge spike and then was abandoned. The MTTR and failure rate would be easier to measure if there was a better new relic integration in our case

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Measuring the DORA metrics isn't a easy task and Sleuth gave us insights day one - not just numbers, it gives "level" that give insights on how good those numbers are - so a CTO can check really fast how his dev cycle is doing but also a tech lead can have detailed info about his team performance

 ### 4. Creates visibility to teams about their performance metrics and helps to automate some routine

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikolai M. | Head of IT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

- Ability to see metrics like Frequency, Leadtime, Failture Rate and MTTR by teams and by projects
- Lead time breakdown helps to identify specific area where improvements are needed
- Automated reports to slack before daily highlights points to discuss (e.g. stale pull request)
- Goal setting helps teams to improve their processes (make PRs smaller, do PR review more often or split issues better)
- Overall configuration process is quite straight forward and simple
- Convenient roles and pricing models
- Automations Marketplace has a bunch of nice automations: validate PR title, commit message, commit size, etc.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

- Bitbucket support is not so advanced as for GitHub
- Sometimes navigation between teams and projects is a bit annoying

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our dev cycle was quite long and we were looking for a tool which helps us to identify the reasons behind that. After we adopted Sleuth in our development teams we identified several reasons:
- big portion if pull requests had gigantic or huge size
- review lag was several days
- review time was big as well

Based on this information we set goals in Sleuth, configured several automations and reminders and after a few months teams had next results:
- number of gigantic PRs reduced by 40%, for small and medium increase by 170%
- review time and review lag were reduced by 30-35%
- deployment frequency was increase by 150%

We also noticed overall improvement of quality of the code and pull requests in general. Activity in PR reviews increased as well.

 ### 5. Very useful as a consistent way to measure the DORA metrics

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos R. | Director of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Sleuth is very easy to set up and to understand. The different views (project, team, or org level) allow to present the information in a way that can be understood by different stakeholders.

It's been very helpful for me in measuring the Dora Metrics and encouraging the teams to take all actions necessary to make the metrics better (which in turn leads to better performance).

Also the customer support has always been very quick and efficient.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Sleuth struggles a bit to measure some of the DORA metrics in a trunk based development setup and the fact that there's no automated way to import all repositories in gitlab sometimes makes it harder to ensure that all repositories are accounted for in the metrics.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A way to indirectly measure if teams are being effective or not. It also provides tips and tricks on where teams should focus to become better.

 ### 6. DORA Metrics on steroids

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Guilherme X. | Staff Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

It's a great platform and the concepts and constructs just make sense. They are open to get down to the design level of your products so you can get the most out of the platform, which is splendid. Also, their support staff is very helpful and intimate — they usually reproduce it exactly the way YOU use it, which is phenomenal. The webhook approach is flexible for most users.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

It's a SaaS. Therefore, will not adapt well to restrictive environments.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

visibility into the software development lifecycle. With Sleuth, we can visualy analyze whether or not we are on track with our expectations and act on it.

 ### 7. Sleuth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Sleuth does DORA better than any platform I have seen. There are other platforms with broader functionality, but Sleuth keeps their focus narrow and excels there. Once up and running, the platform is really straight-forward to extract isights from.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

For companies not making use of the "easier" dev tools and patterns, onboarding could probably be made a bit faster with a library of common implementation approaches. Obviously there are things like code snippets to emit the right kind of events, but I mean more in terms of showing a range of common development and deployment patterns to shortcut teams toward understanding how to adapt to their own workflows.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sleuth is our best source of velocity data. It tells us how teams are performing, and how that performance moves over time as we introduce tooling, process, or organisational changes.

 ### 8. Sleuth is simple and effective

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

You can easily track the Dora metrics in your project. It is easy to implement thanks to good number of pre-made integration and custom webhooks. Our managers can easily read all the metrics thanks the simple but effective dashboard.
The customer support is great, they respond immediately and they are always helpful,

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Nothing. The product is great. I can't say that there is something that I dislike.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The company wanted to track the DORA metrics of our engineering teams to improve the development process

 ### 9. Sleuth is a great tool for measuring DORA metrics

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ron S. | Engineering Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Nice looking dashboard with lots of features including workflow automations.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Could use more MS Teams workflows/notifications.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Observability and Monitoring: Sleuth helps track and visualize the impact of new features or changes in real-time. You can get a clear picture of how different parts of the system are performing, which helps you ensure stability and quickly address issues before they grow.

Metrics and Reporting: As an Engineering Manager, you need to report on team performance and project progress. Sleuth can generate metrics about deployment frequency, stability, and other key performance indicators that you can use for reporting to higher-ups or for your own internal assessments.

 ### 10. Very insightful tool with impeccable customer service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oliver J. | Lead Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

I have found the tool extremely helpful in enabling our team to deploy faster and take more risks. It provides invaluable insights into where our team is doing well and where they're doing not so well, enabling us to improve and see the results immediately.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

It's perhaps a bit on the pricy side and for companies with limited budget can be a hard sell.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is supporting us to find where we are taking most of our time on the software development cycle and where our deployments are failing most.

 ### 11. Useful DORA automation - most useful if you use JIRA or Linear

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Automated view of DORA; ease of integration with Github; helpful automations. Helpful, responsive support and good onboarding experience.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Change Failure Rate impact sources can make a big difference on quality of data, and they can be hard to align if your monitoring is not already designed for this purpose. This can lead to false positives.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating our DORA monitoring, and also giving our teams a continuous pulse of DORA metrics. The LTFC breakdown is very useful to guide our teams' interventions.

 ### 12. Game-Changer for Software Delivery Performance!

It allowed me as a CTO, to provide insights to every different business function of our organization. Allowing us to align on key objectives and boost efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

maybe i would love a ou-of-the-box integration with APM like New relic and Datadog

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Measure our software delivery lifecycle
Provide cross-domain visibility
Compare periods and generate data for OU leaders

 ### 13. Sleuth is a powerful DORA metrics tool that helps teams measure and improve their DevOps performance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vesna K. | RTE, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Easy of Use and Customer Support is great

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Limited number of Contributors. Doesn't support custom work item types from DevOps.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Team's performance metrics, really valuable break down view to see what delivery phase need improvements.

 ### 14. Great support and works at scale

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

The Sleuth customer support has been consistently excellent. Additionally, Sleuth has a Terraform provider that makes it easy to configure at large scale.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Sleuth's GitLab integration has not worked perfectly with complex GitLab CI/CD setups

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sleuth is providing DORA metrics for engineering teams, bringing visibility of these metrics into the hands of teams and helping to identify outliers

 ### 15. Great easy way to drop into DORA stats, release tracking and deployment management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew P. | Chief Technology Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Sleuth is very straightforward to get started

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Toughest problem we had was managing impacts (determining how and when to indicate a failure in a deployment)

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sleuth tells us exactly what tickets/features have gone to which environments and when. It also gave us a very quick way to get started with tracking our DORA stats.

 ### 16. Awesome tool to enhance the overall team performance

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rishu T. | Associate Manager Strategy, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Its very easy/convinient to use & the options to integrate it with other applications & options to visualize it.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

The license is a bit costly to use the premium feature of the app.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives many insights into the deployments and also the team metrics. It lets us track the deployments and product health over time.

 ### 17. DORA metrics and more

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua H. | Technical Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Sleuth has a deep understanding of DORA metrics and provides the critical integrations you need to get these metrics setup as fast as possible. The app is fast, even as we've added more and more projects. Even better is the team behind the product, who understand DORA metrics and the deeper deployment-related metrics Sleuth provides. After every conversation we have with a Sleuth team member I feel like we come away smarter from it.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

The product is still rapidly evolving. Some features are in "beta" and change quite often. This is tough when the features are desired by users and they have to adapt to so much time.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted DORA metrics to help us understand the health of our engineering organization and the impact changes to our internal developer platform might have on those metrics. We now have these metrics and can have better, data-driven conversations that were impossible to have before without a lot of manual data gathering and manipulation.

 ### 18. Finally a straightforward tool for measuring engineering success

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David Felipe C. | VP of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

- You can set up metrics for different teams and projects very fast
- I think they have the most diverse set of integrations I have ever seen on engineering metrics tools
- Content, they have excellent tutorials and videos to guide you in the process
- Fair and simple pricing
- Very attentive customer success team

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

- I'd like to segregate metrics by contributor and understand how they are adding to the team (at least in the delivery metrics)
- Recipes to implement the different metrics over different team set-ups

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- It's helping my teams to understand how their engineering strategy is going on
- Providing visibility to technical leaders and managers about the performance of a team
- Guiding our discussions to improve bottlenecks, processes, and refining the engineering strategy of each team

 ### 19. Dora Metrics made awesome!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander H. | Director, DevOps and SRE, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Slick deployment markers, loaded slack messages that created click/interactivity engagement and user onboarding that was so smooth we didn't have to ask users to sign up.
The iterations and improvements are visible and noticed by our team.
It makes it really easy and visible to track code across environments which can, at times get fuzzy when things go quickly.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Being a product that changes quickly, sometimes we get iterations that aren't as smooth as others.
For fewer code projects/application deployments, the pricing feels a little high, at times.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making progress and success/failure visible and immediate is a great driver. It forces us to think about quality and delivery on a daily basis as we see Sleuth's information in Slack daily.

 ### 20. Great for insight, UX could be improved

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Integrating Sleuth with your repo's and key services is straight forward and simple - the insights you then gain, particularly for lead time and deployment frequency are available immediately and have been a great enabler of conversations around team effectiveness. It's been a game changer to support our Engineering Managers drive better outcomes for our services. The recent 'Teams' feature has really improved the tool, allowing us to track in a far more standard team structure way with multiple repo's being owned by a single team - this feature was delivered after we engaged Sleuth to provide this so their customer responsiveness, and the involvement we had on their UX design sessions was great to see.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Overall, the UX could be improved, its something not intuitive how to navigate around the tool and how to find the functionality/view that you require - this is improving, but I also find it changes quite often (I guess this is because they are making continual improvements based on feedback) which sometimes compounds the problem.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Insight into our DORA metrics, consistently across all teams and services. As we've pivotted to SaaS as a company this insight into these core metrics has been key to support our evolution of the teams.

 ### 21. Metrics for Platform Engineers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin R. | Backend Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Sleuth records and visualizes DORA metrics in a way that quantitatively measures macro-trends. This makes pain points easier to understand, and therefore address.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Their pricing model is confusing, and not fully captured on their pricing page. Currently any in-depth use of the metrics can only be attained in the enterprise plan, even if the customer doesn't need 24/7 support or on-premise git integration.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sleuth captures DORA metrics, which give insight into the efficiency of an engineering team. As a platform engineer, this can be used, with other feedback mechanisms, to better prioritize work that will yield high value to product engineers.

 ### 22. Sleuth is great for tracking metrics and team productivity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua N. | VP of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Over the past 12 months we have made a transition to DevOps. Sleuth has helped us track our progress at a team and codebase level. We have been using these metrics to make goals for the quarter.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Some engineers like to use draft PRs, which has caused us to do manual work to remove those to get accurate lead time.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Initially we were only releasing about once or twice a month. Sleuth helps me track how well the teams are doing. I also found that we were not closing ops genie tickets despite them being resolved. This would cause errors to not alert. Sleuth helped us diagnose what was causing those issues.

 ### 23. Great tool if you wanna increase team performances

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cristiano S. | Product Owner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

The easy of use, the cost, the possibility to integrate it with the most used ci\cd pipelines, the dashboard. I configured it in a couple of minutes!

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Maybe some premium features that could also be available with the standard plan.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're growing as a team so we wanted to start measuring performance metrics in order to remove bottlenecks and to improve our it organization.

 ### 24. A very good tool for tracking deployments and teams

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard R. | Director Of Technology, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Sleuth is excellent at tracking deployments and as long as it can be set up correctly (which they have many options to set up) it can be an invaluable tool for your team to track deployments and other team metrics.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

The set up can be difficult, and it doesn't support environments for sentry monitoring.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives us insights into our deployments and team metrics. It lets us track our deployments and product health over time.

 ### 25. The gold standard productivity metrics, made easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shannon B. | Head of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Companies and leaders need to know a reliable picture of the world if they want to effectively navigate it. Defining and building bespoke productivity metrics is a political minefield that can easily degrade trust within your org, become easily gamed, or cost a fortune in engineering costs to instrument and maintain. Sleuth takes out the toil and pain, offering evidence based industry gold standard metrics that are easy to set up.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

I wish it existed years ago so I could have saved the blood, sweat, and social capital I've spent building these systems in the past. I'd love to see white papers from their datasets of aggregated industry benchmarking trends by growth stage, team/org size, or sector. It would be incredibly useful to see where your org sits relative to comparable companies.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting ahead of cultural and technical problems as the org grows, identifying areas for improvement and helping with priorities and trade offs.

 ### 26. Easy to integrate and rich visualizations for engineers and PM's

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

All the rich data and data that you can easily see from your delivery lifecycle.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Lack of support for multi-production environments for metrics collection and reporting at exec level.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sleuth helps us in gathering actual metrics that matter of engineering teams' performance and helps them improve.

 ### 27. I would recommend it as a consideration, but they'd have to evaluate it for their own needs.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Deployment tracking, who deployed what, when, notifs to slack

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Difficult to tackle failure metrics. Sentry report include dev envs. No clear playbooks on how to successfully use this metric to drive progress.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Track who deployed what/where, how often, and whether deployment is healthy.

 ### 28. Essential engineering scoreboard

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrei B. | Principal Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

The hardest part of establishing a culture of continuous improvement is tracking your leading indicators. In the whirlwind of modern software delivery, it's easy for teams to feel like they're not making progress or lose sight of the massive impact incremental improvements can have.

Sleuth does a great job surfacing that data and keeping teams focused on practices that have been proven to lead to better engineering outcomes.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Initial setup can be somewhat fiddly with some of the integrations.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking where engineering effort is spent and clearing bottlenecks in our processes.

It's been great to have a scoreboard to point to and have the team see their progress against the previous week or month.

 ### 29. Really nice tool with plenty options to integrate with other tools like PD, DataDog

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patryk S. | Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Dora metrics and summary if I am reaching elite level per metric

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Sometimes I lack more user customization.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DevOps teams use DORA metrics to check how our process looks like

 ### 30. Visibility over what is running where

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Sleuth gives teams a great picture of what is deployed where, and how it is affected by errors. The metrics help teams improve by showing them performance over time.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

There isn't much to dislike, but one challenge is that historical information isn't available on initial setup.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Teams can see their performance over time using industry accepted mectrics

 ### 31. Visibility into the efficiency of the team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan N. | SVP Engineering and Product, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Sleuth gives me clear visibility into how each team and each project is delivering and the impact of those changes. It's the one tool we have that ties together the upstream inputs (source code, builds, deploys) with the downstream impacts (errors, incidents, health). As such, it's incredibly valuable, It helps us track those changes across the whole lifecycle and gives the teams the dashboard the need to measure and improve their own process.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

The UI is very information-dense and sometimes hard to know what to focus on at first.

**Recommendations to others considering Sleuth:**

It's easy to get started with and try it out. You'll get interesting insights after the first week.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sleuth gives us insight into our key engineering efficiency metrics and lets us track them over time. Nothing is ever static in an engineering team: people change, assignments change, customers change, technology changes. Sleuth lets us see when those changes are causes our productivity to dip and take action.

 ### 32. It's hard to explain

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rui Pedro L. | Software engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

It is the type of tool that you don't really know the value until you start using.
Release frequency, size, and payload is something we all end up doing one way or another. Having something that does it for you and presents it intuitively is a time saver.
How precisely was your last release and how long did it took? How big was the payload change? How many features? How many times do you release per month, per year, and what's the favorite day to do so? These answers come up right after logging in.
Genius.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

UI needs some love. Too monochromatic and with a tiny font size.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm not spending time gathering data to write reports about releases, nor I need to go through git history to check which was the release commit.

 ### 33. Sleuth watches my code so I don't have to

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Having Sleuth monitor my deploys and proactively alert me to problems post-deploy has been a lifesaver.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Some of our metrics can get noisy sometimes which causes the occasional false alarm. But I think this is really more of a problem with our monitoring than with Sleuth itself. I am looking forward to seeing deeper integrations with build pipelines and alerting over time too, I think there is a lot more that Sleuth can still do.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In a world of distractions, sometimes we all hit merge and then focus on something else and forget to check on our deploys when they complete. But with Sleuth, I know two things: 1. That I will be alerted when my code is live, and 2. I will be alerted if any of our metrics are out of range after my deploy. It offers peace of mind and really helps when onboarding new people to the team who may not know all the things to watch. The rest of the code metrics are also lovely and help push for healthy practices on the team.

 ### 34. Want DORA metrics? get Sleuth!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew B. | Head of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Very easy to set up, great UI (nice and clean and clear). Weekly summary emails are excellent.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Setting up the CloudWatch insights was a little challenging but Sleuth offered some direct help which meant we got over it. Would really like to be able to extract the metrics into a CSV/XLS or similar so that it could be imported into our management metrics dashboard.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wanted to start tracking DORA/Accelerate metrics but didn't fancy manually collecting the data and then performing the calculations. Sleuth takes all of this away, give me the DORA metrics that I wanted plus more.

 ### 35. Sleuth ~ Engineering Productivity!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raghu V. | Engineering Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Sleuth is a "mission-control" for engineering health. The tool is easy to use and it is suprisingly quick to get onboarded. Once you are in it gets you hooked with relevant metrics and you have the option to integrate other providers to get a holistic view.

FWIW Sleuth's team also does an amazing job working with their customers and streamlining their needs.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

N/A can't thing of anything that I dislike

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are two sides to how Sleuth helps
- Tactical: Processing different datasources such as metrics providers and pull-requests to indicate the health of deploys
- Strategic: Provides a unified dashboard with accelerate metrics which are great indicators for engineering health

 ### 36. Definitely adding value to the process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Igor B. | Product Design Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

I love the overview Sleuth provides. It's very easy to see what's what at a glance. Having notifications funneled into a single Slack channel is massively helpful.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

I am missing some integrations, but I know they are working on integrating with even more tools. There are some minor UX kinks here and there, but all in all, I'm super happy with Sleuth.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The metrics are crucial for success. And Sleuth provides tracking the right metrics. Having clarity and control over deploys is also super important and easy with Sleuth.

 ### 37. Great visibility into shipping health!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott K. | Head of Product, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Data calculation and presentation is taken care of effortlessly

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Wish there were more CI integrations for rollbacks!

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great leading indicator on the health of our development lifecycle. As our team continues to grow we want to make sure that we continue to ship quickly.

 ### 38. Our team has found a new way to build a shared understanding of the health of their deployments.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave E. | Co-CEO

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

Sleuth helps us to better understand the health of our deployments, all within slack.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

There's not much to dislike! It does a great job!

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The team has built a shared understanding around their deployments. There's no longer any misunderstanding about what happened and when. The team can also chat in Slack in context of a deploy by starting a thread on the Sleuth deployment notification.

 ### 39. Great product, great customer service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kim B. | Director of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Sleuth?**

The time to implement, review, and release metrics are a much better way to think about productivity, than points and points-driven velocity.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Nothing comes to mind so far. Maybe the ability to export metrics in various formats

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding team our performance, and develop/staging/production environments health.

 ### 40. An excellent tool to gain insight into your team's efficiency

Tracking DORA metrics.
Monitoring deploys health.

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

The baseline of impact sources usually needs to be adjusted.

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking DORA metrics automatically.
Being able to immediately see if a deploy is causing issues.

 ### 41. I've been looking for this for nearly a decade, and I'm so pleased I found it!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh G. | Commitee Chair, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2021

The graphic showing lifecycle events of a feature

**What do you dislike about Sleuth?**

Sadly wrong attempt to show "who is the best developer".

**What problems is Sleuth solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visualization of Continuous Delivery pipeline.
Better communication and feedback with all stakeholders.
