SkimGuard Business is card-skimmer detection and PCI DSS terminal-inspection logging for merchants who accept card payments at gas pumps, ATMs, and retail POS terminals. Wireless skimmers transmit the card data they capture, and they advertise over Bluetooth while sitting idle between customers. SkimGuard listens for those signatures continuously and alerts the operator when a device matching a known skimmer profile appears at a location — so a compromised terminal is found in hours rather than surfacing weeks later through chargebacks. Deploy it two ways. Handheld lets staff scan terminals with a phone during routine walkthroughs. Automated turns a site's existing wireless access points into always-on listeners — Cisco Meraki, Juniper Mist, HPE Aruba, Ruckus, and Cisco Catalyst via Cisco Spaces are supported, with unlimited access points at no additional cost — or runs a desktop agent from a back-office machine where the network isn't supported. Automated includes handheld scanning at no extra charge. There is no POS integration, no new hardware to install, and no change to how staff work at the lane. SkimGuard Business also includes a terminal-inspection logbook that helps merchants document and meet PCI DSS v4.0.1 Requirement 9.5.1: a POI device inventory tracked by serial number, tamper-inspection records with photos on a risk-justified schedule, staff training records, and an append-only audit trail with CSV and PDF export for assessors. A merchant portal shows every location's current status and scan history, alerts route to named contacts, and each monitored location can display a status badge and appear on SkimGuard's public consumer map. SkimGuard is decision support, not a guarantee. It improves the odds that a device is found early; it does not prevent fraud, does not certify PCI compliance, and does not replace physical inspection or a merchant's existing loss-prevention controls.
