"Modern, easy to grasp, accessible simulation software."
4/5
What do you like best about SimScale?

I like that SimScale can really be handled by people that did not have prior experience with simulations before. The online tutorials are really great and practical.

The support team is knowledgeable and helpful, you don't have to dwell for hours on the web to find the right way to do something. The creators are there to help you.

It's absolutely great that it's cloud based so I can run dozens of simulations at the same time. It greatly limits the resources that one needs to bring to run big simulations and you can keep doing what you were doing while the sims are running!

The basic package of modules that comes at a relatively low price is just great. I do not know another software that can offer me dynamic non-linear or basic CFD simulations for this price.

The interface is modern, accessible, user-friendly. It takes your hand and leads you to the end. It will point to any mistakes in the setup or the simulation itself. It's hard to go wrong with this one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimScale?

I would say that the resource estimator is the biggest downside of SimScale at the moment. It is frequently underestimating the core hours needed to run something. However, the mistakes can be avoided by carefully following the simulation in the beginning and knowing good practices. But for beginner users it can be really frustrating.

The geometry preparation is a bit tedious and clunky.

It would be great if default units for typical solution fields could be changed and saved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A little clunky, but gets the job done."
3.5/5
What do you like best about SimScale?

I like the cloud based feature, and it has the basic tools needed for FEA. Excellent customer support. Fairly intuitive interface if you're familiar with other FEA tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimScale?

I don't like that you can not alter or change how you interface with the program (i.e.- mouse settings etc). Some settings or options in program are difficult to find. In program modeling editor could be better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless CFD, simulations made easy"
5/5
What do you like best about SimScale?

SimScale is cloud-based and runs through the browser. It has an intuitive UI, a straightforward simulation setup, and built-in checks to ensure input matches output. They provide an extensive library of recorded webinars, tutorials, sample projects, and rich documentation to get you started. There are also many community projects to explore.

The platform offers great support, including the option for video sessions. It is easy to use and implement, as it does not require any hardware. Multiple simulations can be run simultaneously. Having SimScale allows us to rapidly validate cases and assumptions, providing insights that we previously could not obtain. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimScale?

Some features are still under development such as CAD preparations. There are some support for it today, but it has room for improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for people who are new to CFD"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SimScale?

It is a great option for persons that are not familiarized with FEA and CFD simulations. Is very simple to use, even if you are not a "tech-y" person. If you were to start your own engineering design firm, it would be a great option to invest in a simulation software such as SimScale, because the licensing can be obtained for a cheaper prize as compared to other FEA/CFD softwares. What do you dislike about SimScale?

It would be helpful to somehow be able to do parametric studies not only by changing boundary condition values but also changing geometry dimensions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Innovative CAE Platform"
5/5
What do you like best about SimScale?

Easy to use and implement, with great support. Since it is cloud based, you can access data from everywhere, which make is appealing to use within a team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimScale?

I don't think there is anything specific that i could point out. It has all the features one could expect from a CAE platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"SimScale CFD and FEA"
5/5
What do you like best about SimScale?

I purchased a SimScale CFD and FEA license for my company. It's a really great product with great support. It's a very easy product to use and setup. I have been using it on a weekly basis. It was easy to integrate with Solidworks, and it can import native models. Very happy so far. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimScale?

SimScale limits the number of core hours, so for very large simulation products the user may run out of resources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Accessible simulation software"
4/5
What do you like best about SimScale?

Walks you through the steps required for making a simulation. Pretty user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimScale?

Looking at results is sometimes buggy and not so helpful. E.g. "inspect point" doesn't seem to work well since the values are sometimes different than the color-coding indicates. Always I usually have issues with the cutting plane - possible to make the cutting plane invisible? Sometimes I can get this to work but not always. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simscale Review"
5/5
What do you like best about SimScale?

The ability to run parallel simulations is great, this allows for better productivity. The customer support is also another good feature. If you have a question the technical team is very quick to respond. The GUI is user friendly and easy to learn. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimScale?

Sometimes you will need to export your results to a third party software to do certain specific tasks, like plotting a quantity along a line. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My First Experience Working with an Online Analysis Tool"
5/5
What do you like best about SimScale?

This was my first experience using an analysis software that operates entirely through a web-based platform rather than a fully installed program on my computer.

Two aspects of SimScale truly impressed me in a very positive way.

First, the technical support team has been outstanding. They were always available to answer my questions with great efficiency and kindness. As a user, it is incredibly reassuring to know that I can rely on real professionals who provide immediate and personalized assistance whenever needed.

Second, the cloud-based nature of SimScale is a game-changer. Since all computations run on SimScale’s servers, I can perform complex simulations and manage large projects from any of my devices quickly and easily, without installing any software or needing high-end hardware. The ability to work from anywhere, without being tied to a fixed workstation, makes SimScale an invaluable tool for multiphysics analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimScale?

I wouldn’t say there’s anything I dislike about SimScale, but there are certainly a few areas that could be improved.

So far, I have only used SimScale for FEA and don’t have extensive hours on the platform yet. However, one of the first things I noticed is that whenever I want to modify a 3D file (such as simplifying the geometry) I always have to create a new copy instead of editing the existing file. It would be great to have the option to work directly on the same model without duplicating it.

Additionally, while SimScale offers excellent simplification tools, I found it more convenient to simplify 3D models in CAD software before importing them into SimScale. Enhancing these built-in simplification tools could make the workflow even smoother.

Regarding meshing, I would love to have more control over the mesh type selection, such as choosing between tetrahedral or hexahedral elements, as well as having more options to fine-tune mesh settings.

Lastly, one significant improvement would be expanding the materials catalog. Considering the wide range of metal alloys and the different heat treatments they can undergo, a more comprehensive selection would be highly beneficial.

I look forward to revisiting this feedback in a few months, once I have gained more experience with the platform and can provide a more in-depth perspective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
