Searches and URL evaluations are fast. Silo is our primary tool now for CTI, Brand Protection, OSINT and investigations, and secure web access. It was a bit more expensive than our previous tool, but considering all the additional capabilities we get, it was worth it. We inherited the tool through an M&A, so I can’t speak to the onboarding experience. It was like all my internet searching happened in a super safe magic bubble that was not even on my real computer. So if I visited a weird website, none of the spooky stuff could get to me. It just made my work so much less stressful because I did not have to worry about breaking my computer or getting a virus. Also, copying and pasting things from my real computer into the Silo browser was a little clunky and you had to use a special little window to do it instead of just the normal keyboard shortcut. It really was not a big deal though. Also, being able to find information like who is talking to which domains, or which domains you see being malware or C2, is just an easy search without requiring a lot of data searching. No need to configure any additional settings on the endpoint side, just a joke, we need to enter the IP of the umbrella DNS server! It provides very good blocking policies to prevent the user from visiting unwanted sites.
