My favourite part about Shakepay is that it’s SUPER DUPER EASY to convert your crypto into CAD and then e-transfer it to your bank account- and quickly. If you are struggling with this conversion in other apps (such as having minimum balances or general trouble converting despite the app offering this option), get Shakepay and move your crypto over! Once into CAD, it takes only minutes for your transfer to show up in your bank account. A bunch of other fun features too! Check it out- this app is a staple for new and seasoned crypto users alike. The biggest downside to Shakepay is that they only deal with bitcoin and Ethereum currently, so your crypto needs to be converted before you transfer into the app. There’s no significant problem with bitcoin except that some other apps require a minimum amount in order to transfer out and with the high price of bitcoin this may be difficult to achieve. But remember to always convert your crypto into bitcoin and I will explain why in the next paragraph.
The downfall of Ethereum is the “gas” required for the transfer, Which can sometimes be up to a third of your total Deposit/transfer amount. At least that is my experience. My recommendation if you’re transferring to Shakepay from another app is to have your crypto converted into bitcoin prior to doing your transfer.
I learned this the hard way… and losing 1/3 of my transfer Was quite the jagged little pill to swallow. Ethereum gas prices depends on the app or the program you’re using and sometimes can be free with promotions, but make sure you are aware That you could lose some of your investment.
