What do you like best about Selenium?

It consists of Selenium IDE and is available as a plugin in multiple familiar browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc. This feature enables the new developers to get acquainted with the basic concept of Selenium IDE along with minimal knowledge of the topic. What do you dislike about Selenium?

Not exactly dislike, but it does not provide ready-to-use templates in Java, Python, C#, PHP, JavaScript. A kind of most awaited feature that can help the developers to avoid using StackOverflow for basic initial setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Selenium:

Use some framework that supports Data Driven or Input Driven approach for the end results to be displayed as a summary. TestNg, Cucumber etc as some of the Java Framework. You will have to find the similar once in the supported language. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Selenium solving and how is that benefiting you?

With the help of selenium, you can automate almost each of your daily stuff that open's up in a web browser. A funny example would be sending a list of automated messages on WhatsApp Web and opening up your office stuff like opening up the mails, logging in to every tool. Selenium does not come with retryability, and tests can often be flaky and report false positives due to things like the page not loading, etc. It treats all pages that it tests as black box, and that isn't ideal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
