**What do you like best about Scytale?**

Dian Strydom has been a great support throughout, always willing to assist, provide guidance, and go the extra mile when needed. His kindness, patience, and willingness to help have made a real difference, and I truly appreciate all the support he has given.

**What do you dislike about Scytale?**

It is mostly technical. One example is policies changing versions without any edits being made, which is not very convenient.

**What problems is Scytale solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scytale helps us streamline and manage our SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 compliance processes. It reduces the amount of manual work involved in collecting and organising evidence, tracking policies and controls, and preparing for audits. Having everything in one place also makes it easier to monitor our compliance status and identify any outstanding items. Overall, it saves us time, provides better visibility into our compliance activities, and makes the audit process more structured and manageable.<br><br>However, the Scytale tool alone would not make such a significant difference without the support of Dian Strydom. Dian has been an incredible support throughout the process, providing guidance, answering questions, and helping us navigate the platform and compliance requirements. His knowledge, responsiveness, and willingness to go the extra mile have made a huge difference and have been a key part of our success with Scytale.

We achieved SOC 2 certification in record time thanks to Scytale. It is an incredibly comprehensive compliance platform: it allows easy tracking of all controls, agile policy completion, and automates a large part of the evidence, saving us a lot of time and effort. But undoubtedly, the most valuable aspect is the support from the Scytale team. Always available, resourceful, and with a deep understanding of the regulations, they guided us through every step of the process. Their support made the difference between a stressful audit and a smooth, transparent process.

**What do you dislike about Scytale?**

There is one aspect I think could be improved: the online policy editor. In my experience, it feels somewhat limited and inflexible, making it difficult to adjust to what I need.

The service task involves coordinating audit preparations, ensuring all evidence is collected, and managing stakeholder communications efficiently. The goal is to streamline the process, reduce stress, and ensure compliance.

**What do you like best about Scytale?**

The platform itself is pretty solid, but the real differentiating factor has been Marené Buitendag as our GRC Manager. No one likes collecting evidence. No one likes chasing down reluctant stakeholders. But Marené helped us to corral stakeholders and get everything in order without skipping a beat or smile. That aside, with regards to the platform itself integrations are welcome, the UI UX is comparatively intuitive, and the performance has been solid.

**What do you dislike about Scytale?**

The platform doesn't always surface its own capability well. I've stumbled onto useful features tucked away in menus I wasn't expecting; a bit more visibility into what it can actually do would help.

**Recommendations to others considering Scytale:**

Consider enhancing the platform's user interface to make hidden features more accessible. Providing a comprehensive guide or tutorial could also help users discover and utilize all available functionalities.

**What problems is Scytale solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The annual grind of audit prep; pulling evidence together, gentle reminders, consistent encouragement, tracking outstanding items, managing the back-and-forth. Having a central place for that, backed by someone who chases it down properly, has taken a lot of the chaos out of what used to be a stressful yearly slog.

**What do you like best about Scytale?**

We are currently working with Kamran Naicker on our SOC 2 Type 2 compliance, and the experience has been pleasant, productive, and completely positive. The Scytale portal is remarkably straightforward and easy to use, making evidence tracking seamless. Highly recommend working with Kamran and the team!

**What do you dislike about Scytale?**

There isn't much to dislike overall. The only minor friction we experienced was during our SOC 2 Type 1 audit, where securing the external auditor took a bit longer than expected since they are a third-party company. Other than that initial delay, everything with Scytale has gone smoothly.

Scytale helps us navigate our SOC 2 Type 1 and Type 2 compliance without the typical operational headache. The automated evidence collection, intuitive interface, and clear guidance on ISO 27001 controls make it much easier to track compliance progress and prepare for an audit.

**What do you dislike about Scytale?**

Overall, Scytale has significantly simplified the ISO 27001 process, particularly with its automated evidence collection and integrations. However, some controls could provide more implementation guidance. It is often unclear what evidence is expected, whether a control is applicable for an early stage startup, or where to find the required information in platforms like Azure, Microsoft Intune, and Bitbucket. More step by step guidance, example evidence, and startup specific recommendations would make the platform much easier to use. I also experienced a few integration and synchronization issues during the implementation. While the support team resolved these issues quickly and was very responsive, improving the stability and reliability of the integrations would provide a smoother overall experience.

**What problems is Scytale solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Scytale, preparing for ISO 27001 felt like a fragmented and manual process. It was difficult to understand which controls applied to our environment, what evidence auditors would expect, and how to organize everything in a structured manner. Scytale has centralized the entire compliance process, provided a clear roadmap, and automated the collection of evidence from services such as Microsoft 365, Azure, and Bitbucket. This has significantly reduced manual effort, improved visibility into our compliance posture, and made it much easier to track outstanding actions as we work toward ISO 27001 certification.

The platform makes ISO 27001 evidence collection and control tracking seamless, eliminating manual spreadsheets. But the absolute highlight is the consulting support, Eddent was responsive, knowledgeable, and guided us through every step to ensure a smooth, stress-free audit.

**What do you dislike about Scytale?**

Nothing major that blocked our audit. Occasionally, integrations can take a little time to sync, and some complex controls could use slightly clearer implementation examples out of the box. That said, any minor friction was quickly cleared up with support.

J'utilise l'app pour faciliter ma certification SOC2 et ISO27001. Avec la plateforme, ma vie se voit tellement simplifier. Ça organise et simplifie tout le processus de certification. Ça me donne une grande efficacité, car mon équipe est réduite, avec une seule personne quelques heures par année nous arrivons à être et rester certifiés SOC2 et ISO27001. J'aime particulièrement les intégrations pour les preuves automatiques, je n'ai rien à faire autre que la config initiale. Il n'y a pas besoin de stocker, de chercher ou d'entretenir un répertoire d'évidence, elles sont automatiquement ramassées.

**What do you like best about Scytale?**

Scytale made our SOC 2 process much more structured and manageable. The platform gives us a clear view of the controls, evidence, policies, and open items, and the integrations help reduce a lot of the manual evidence collection.

The support has also been excellent. Liya Sarfudin has been very responsive and hands-on throughout the process, helping us understand what is actually required and quickly resolving questions whenever something wasn’t clear. Having that guidance made the whole process significantly easier for our team.

**What do you dislike about Scytale?**

Very little to dislike. Some of the compliance requirements can feel overwhelming at first, and additional examples or guidance within the platform would be helpful. Overall, the experience was excellent.

**What problems is Scytale solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scytale helped us build and operationalize our SOC 2 compliance program much faster than we could have done internally. The platform streamlined evidence collection, policy management, and audit preparation, while their guidance helped us implement the right security and compliance processes. As a result, we saved significant time, reduced compliance overhead, and were able to demonstrate trust and security maturity to customers and partners.

**What do you like best about Scytale?**

Kamran's been really good to work with. He knows his stuff and his support with all the onboarding and getting set up has been great. The UI could use a little work at times - sometimes parts can be inaccessible, if you're looking at a policy or something but overall it's good. Integrations are great, seem to be pulling across solid info. Performance also solid, no troubles there. Pricing seems ok, from what I know. The AI isn't the brightest though it has been a help with getting to know the system, however asking Kamran directly definitely was the most help.

**What do you dislike about Scytale?**

Least helpful is the few bugs in the UI. Things in policies can be cut off at times, where I can't see the bottom of policies, etc. It would be nice if the training updated quicker too - it seems to take overnight to refresh but not the end of the world.

**What do you like best about Scytale?**

Scytale has dramatically streamlined our compliance work, especially the evidence collection that audits require. The platform comes with a wide range of relevant integrations, which automated away a lot of the boilerplate and manual effort we'd otherwise be stuck doing ourselves. When we ran into issues with specific integrations, their support was highly responsive and available.
One thing that made a real difference was how much they helped us separate the essential from the noise — knowing what actually mattered for the audit versus what we could safely set aside saved us a huge amount of time and second-guessing.
The biggest standout, though, was the hands-on implementation support. We had a dedicated specialist guiding us through the entire process, and honestly we wouldn't have reached the finish line without the direction and verification they provided in our weekly check-ins. Special shout-out to Lןטש, who was absolutely amazing throughout.

**What do you dislike about Scytale?**

Nothing significant so far. The integration setup occasionally needed support involvement, but the team was always quick to help resolve it.

Scytale handles the heavy lifting of compliance evidence collection and removes a large amount of repetitive, manual boilerplate from our plate. Just as importantly, it helped us prioritize - separating what genuinely mattered for the audit from what didn't. The combination of automation, broad integrations, and dedicated implementation guidance let us complete the process efficiently, something that would have been far slower and far more painful to do on our own.

**What do you like best about Scytale?**

The Scytale commercial, consulting, and support teams are very nice to work with. They’re easy to reach and consistently available, flexible, supportive, resourceful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The platform is feature-rich and provides great guidance for working through the certification steps and cycles. Since this was our first time, it felt daunting at the beginning. It integrates well with most common technology providers, although integrating with, for example, a regional cloud provider was complex and time-consuming unless you have solid technical knowledge. Luckily the support rep was very helpful both in chat as well as in an online session to help us out. The platform responds quickly and performs well. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to refresh following taken actions; so it's near time not real time. Although refresh doesn't take more than a day normally. UI could be made a little more intuitive; being new to it it took some time to understand the various routes one could follow to get to the same source materials. It's very helpful to get the intelligence from the platform through the provided templates that can easily be complemented, changed or removed in case it's not applicable. Pricing has been favourable compared to other providers with similar services and is by far better then picking a local traditional firm in this space. While the level of ongoing support, guidance and knowledge of the consultant is high standard.

**What do you dislike about Scytale?**

The UI could be enhanced to make it more intuitive for people less familiar with this matter. Would have preferred to consume the services directly from Scytale instead of having had to set up an AWS account first.

**What problems is Scytale solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had no clue where to start. Even when applying most common LLMs (paid versions) it was unclear what is and isn't required for our business, despite the extensive prompting we tried. Scytale understands the context, SaaS models and provides a base line of required documentation for the specific certification as well as preempting what evidence is required to back it up. This speeds up out time to market (by months), first time right in order to obtain our 'licence to operate' in the regulated market we play in.

What I like best about Scytale is how it centralizes evidence tracking against ISO 27001 controls. Instead of juggling spreadsheets and scattered documents across teams, I can upload evidence directly tied to specific controls, which cuts down significantly on the manual chasing-around that usually comes with audit prep. It's made our audit readiness process far more organized and repeatable.

**What do you dislike about Scytale?**

Honestly, there isn’t anything major I dislike about Scytale. So far, it’s met our needs well and has helped us stay on track for ISO 27001 audit readiness.

**What problems is Scytale solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scytale addresses the core challenge of managing ISO 27001 audit readiness at scale as our organization grows.

The biggest problem it solves is evidence sprawl and manual tracking. Before we centralized evidence in Scytale, control evidence lived across spreadsheets, emails, and shared drives, which made it difficult to tell what was current, what was missing, and who owned each item. With Scytale, we have a single source of truth that’s tied directly to each ISO 27001 control.

It also reduces audit prep inefficiency. Preparing for audits used to mean weeks of chasing down documentation from different teams right before the audit window. Now we upload and organize evidence continuously throughout the year, so audit prep is far less of a fire drill.

Another major improvement is visibility into our compliance posture. Without a centralized system, it’s hard to see at a glance where gaps exist across a full control framework. Scytale gives real-time visibility into which controls are evidenced, which are lagging, and where attention is needed well before an external auditor gets involved.

Finally, it improves cross-team coordination. ISO 27001 evidence often depends on inputs from multiple functions (IT, engineering, HR, vendor management), and Scytale provides a structured way to assign and track evidence ownership across those teams instead of relying on ad hoc follow-ups.

It generates actionable tasks with AI based recommendations and guidance, and it integrates with multiple systems to automatically extract evidence. The platform itself is excellent. It made it incredibly easy to monitor our compliance posture and pinpoint exactly which missing pieces of information or documentation we needed to address before the audit.

What truly sets Scytale apart, however, is their customer success and advisory team. The support was consistently reactive and fast, but the standout highlight of our experience was working with our consultant, Edden Kaplan. Edden was fantastic she was highly proactive with her follow ups and provided crystal clear guidance on the exact actions required to improve our security processes.

But honestly, what stands out most is the people. Our consultant, Edden Kapplan, has been exceptionally patient, deeply knowledgeable, and able to translate complex requirements into clear, practical guidance. I used Scytale to handle our SOC 2 from prep work through the actual audit, and it turned a daunting process into something manageable. The biggest relief was how Scytale laid out exactly what controls we needed and what evidence to collect, which helped us get audit-ready in about a month and pass cleanly. Eden, our point of contact, was incredible, always responsive, prepared, and she knew when to push us or handle things herself. Was very mindful of my time. The platform itself is well organized with mostly automated evidence collection, making the process painless. The integrations automatically pulled evidence, saving us from manual screenshotting, and the policy templates were a head start, allowing us to tweak instead of writing from scratch. The dashboard provided clarity on completed, pending, and needed tasks, giving us a clear picture going into the audit. These features probably cut weeks off the project.

It’s been great having a single place to manage our controls and provide evidence for audits. The integrations and automated evidence collection are especially helpful. I have never had a problem with the speed and reliability of the platform. The UI/UX is fairly user friendly, and the layout is visually appealing as well as functional.  However, it is difficult to tell at times what will link back to useful information such as criteria or controls.  It would be very helpful if the control and criteria labels would link back to that information when an audit is opened to provide evidence.  Marene Buitendag was an absolute pleasure to work with—she’s knowledgeable and did an excellent job coordinating and mediating with the auditors.

I really had a fantastic interaction with Oliver. He was super helpful and quick to respond, which was great support for getting our audits done quicker and resolving uncertainties. I like the nice UI/UX of Scytale; it's easy to access different controls between the different certs. The ease of use of the platform helps us keep everything in one place, and its ability to easily integrate with our vendor applications allows us to track audits and pursue various compliance certificates quicker.

From a project perspective, it's difficult to track the various things that need to be addressed with Scytale. There are so many controls, and it's not an easy view to operate. I think there needs to be more guidance to address the items one by one and to really understand the purpose of each, instead of seeing a bunch of open items. Not all controls have descriptions or resolution options. Additionally, the setup was easy, but there were quite a few bugs on the platform. Some has already been addressed.

If you have AWS than it would be more powerful, I guess, but we have all done by ourselves and host it on a local hoster. This requires a lot of changes in the collection of evidence and completion of controls. Dian Strydom is most helpful with all the steps to be taken. **What do you like best about Scytale?**

What I like best about Scytale is that it made the process feel much more structured and manageable.
The UI is clean and easy to navigate, and the task breakdown, evidence collection, and progress tracking made this practical and simple workflow.

**What do you dislike about Scytale?**

What I dislike most is that the review cycle for certain tasks could be more complete. For example, reviewers can add notes or comments, but the task status, ownership, or assignment does not always change clearly based on that feedback.
Some open items can be harder to track directly in the system, especially when trying to understand what still needs action and who owns the next step. We were able to manage this through follow-up meetings, but it would be helpful if the flow was supported better in the system.

**What problems is Scytale solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scytale helped us manage our first SOC 2 process from a place where we would not have known where to begin. It gave us a clear structure, broke the process into manageable steps, and helped us understand what was required from us at any given time.
It saved us a ton of time. Instead of trying to figure everything out on our own, we had a guided process, clear tasks, and support along the way.

**What do you like best about Scytale?**

Scytale was an absolute breeze to work with. Their platform is intuitive and easy to use, and it helped us track all the necessary metrics to get compliant more quickly. The price was well worth it, and the speed at which we were able to become compliant thanks to Nicole Alvaro, along with the overall support we received from the team from day one, was incredible. Overall, everything felt smooth, straightforward, and simple to manage within their well-structured platform.
