What do users say?

Generated using AI from real user reviews
Users consistently praise Revit for its powerful 3D modeling capabilities and the seamless integration of design, documentation, and coordination within a single model. This interconnectedness allows for real-time updates across all views, significantly reducing errors and saving time. However, many users note that it can be resource-intensive, leading to performance issues with larger projects.

"Revit’s Connected Model Makes BIM Coordination Fast and Error-Free"
5/5
What do you like best about Revit?

The strongest part of Revit is that everything is connected in a single model. Any change made in 3D automatically updates across plans, sections, and schedules. This saves a lot of time and reduces errors. It also makes BIM coordination much easier because the entire project can be managed in one place instead of multiple separate files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Revit?

The main drawback is that Revit can become slow and heavy when working on large projects. It also has a steep learning curve, so it takes time for beginners to get comfortable with its workflow. Another issue is file compatibility, as different versions cannot always be easily opened or downgraded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for Modeling and Fabrication Sheets, Less Tailored for Electrical Work"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Revit?

Revit is a great piece of software for modeling and for creating fabrication sheets. It’s been a solid tool for producing the drawings and sheets I need from my models. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Revit?

Revit definitely has some flaws. For one, it’s very expensive. It also isn’t specifically designed as an electrical design tool, and that limitation can create additional workflow issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Work in all dimensions at once, without interruptions"
5/5
What do you like best about Revit?

What I like the most is that you can do everything at the same time. It allows you to work in all dimensions simultaneously, without having to switch between them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Revit?

You cannot change to a lower version of Revit, or vice versa, without the file being locked. Additionally, some elements, like beams, cannot be grouped or converted into assemblies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best-in-Class BIM Coordination: User-Friendly, Great Performance, and Strong Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Revit?

Best tool for BIM implementation and project coordination. The UI is very user-friendly, and even large projects can be managed smoothly, especially when integrating with other tools and software. Performance-wise and price-wise, this is the best software in my experience. It also has a strong support team and helpful forum platforms. In the new 2027 version, they have introduced an AI agent as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Revit?

Sometimes it crashes when I’m working on large projects, and we can’t downgrade the files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Transforms Architectural Workflow with 3D Precision"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Revit?

I like that building a 3D model enables you to generate relevant views from the model and that they are live updated when changes to the model occur. I appreciate that I can visualize any part of a project with the model, which helps clarify where critical drawings or views will support the client and contractors' understanding of the design intent. It's beneficial that drawings are all live updated when the model changes, helping to avoid missing updates that would have to be made manually if using a 2D CAD system. I like that the 3D model and documents are one in the same. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Revit?

I wish there was a better library of included hatch patterns and materials. I find that material rendering is something I have to spend much more time than I'd like to enable accurate rendering outputs. Certain materials are difficult to rotate, particularly if they are a part of a component, rather than 'painted' into the model. The material and hatch library just feel very limited, which requires trying to custom generate or find other materials to bring in which can get messy. Creating your own templates and knowing how to customize certain features to create useful outputs/data within a model can get very complicated if you're not quite savvy. "Revit’s Connected, Fully Parametric Model-Based Design"
5/5
What do you like best about Revit?

What stands out most about Revit isn’t just one feature—it’s how everything is connected. The biggest strength is that it’s fully parametric and model-based, which changes how you think about design. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Revit?

A lot of tools aren’t where you expect them to be, and some workflows only make sense after you’ve been burned a few times. Things like families, work sets, and view control can confuse even experienced users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Revit’s Parametric"
5/5
What do you like best about Revit?

Parametric Intelligence: Unlike Rhino, everything in Revit is interconnected. If you change a window’s height in a 3D view, it updates instantly in the floor plans, elevations, and schedules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Revit?

The "Revit Way": It is extremely picky. If you don't follow its strict logic for families or hosting, you’ll spend hours fighting the software just to place a simple element. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Revit Review"
5/5
What do you like best about Revit?

The best software, I explored. Which can do Modeling, Overview, Coordination, Documentation & Extracting Quantities. I use dthis software from past 13+ years. Major queries can be adressed by the support & Editorial teams. Very easy to install. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Revit?

Often small things and Details are pretty easy in Auto CAD. Later they can be imported to Revit as Details. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive 3D Coordination, Needs Better Performance"
4/5
What do you like best about Revit?

I use Revit for engineering and designing, especially in sketch form. I appreciate its 3D feature, which has three-dimensional compatibility that helps in identifying if my work is clashing with architectural properties or other services like plumbing pipes and electrical wires. Revit helps me visualize how the work can move and aids in the coordination process, converting to PDF format for our company's engineering work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Revit?

Sometimes Revit takes too much power from the CPU, especially when the Internet speed is low. Handling large models around 200, 500 MB, or one GB can take too much time compared to smaller ones under 100 MB. The initial setup can sometimes be challenging due to internet space and the size of Revit, but it's not too difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Everything Connected in One Model—Accurate Drawings, 3D Views, and Schedules"
5/5
What do you like best about Revit?

What I like best about Revit is how everything is connected in one model. When I make a change in one place, it automatically updates everywhere, which saves time and reduces mistakes. It also makes it easy to create accurate drawings, 3D views, and schedules all from the same project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Revit?

What I dislike about Revit is that it can be slow and heavy, especially on larger projects. It also takes time to learn because of its complex tools and workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
