Rateslip Reviews & Product Details

Rateslip is a specialized tool designed for purchase teams within India's construction and manufacturing sectors. It focuses on accurately determining the landed cost per unit of materials by analyzing documents such as quotations, purchase orders, and invoices. By reading the printed page rather than the hidden text layers within files, Rateslip ensures that the data extracted reflects the actual information presented, thereby minimizing discrepancies that can arise from hidden or conflicting text layers. One of the core functionalities of Rateslip is its ability to calculate the landed cost per unit. This metric encompasses the base rate, any applicable discounts, freight charges, insurance, and handling fees, all divided by the quantity in a specified unit. The application presents both GST-exclusive and GST-inclusive figures, each clearly labeled to prevent any confusion between the two. When processing documents, Rateslip adheres to a strict policy of not filling in missing information. If a document does not specify a particular cost, such as freight, the application records it as unpriced rather than assuming it to be zero or inferring it from other documents. This approach ensures that all calculations are based solely on the information explicitly provided, maintaining the integrity of the data. In terms of document comparison, Rateslip employs stringent criteria to determine comparability. It considers factors such as product family, thickness, variant, commercial stage, delivery destination (matched by its PIN code), and the reader's specifications, including model and version. If any of these keys differ or are unknown, Rateslip refrains from comparing the documents and provides a detailed explanation of the reasons, ensuring that users are fully informed about the validity of potential comparisons. The application also offers functionality to compare different versions of the same purchase order. By uploading both versions, users can view side-by-side comparisons of landed costs per unit, with detailed breakdowns of material costs, discounts, freight, and insurance per unit for each version. This feature highlights any changes between versions, such as a rate increase offset by a corresponding decrease in freight charges, providing a clear understanding of how modifications impact the overall cost. To ensure accuracy, Rateslip reads each page as an image, which is particularly beneficial when dealing with scanned PDFs or photographs. This method avoids potential errors that can occur when the hidden text layer within a PDF contradicts the printed page. By focusing on the rendered page, Rateslip captures the true content of the document, reducing the risk of misinterpretation. Currently, Rateslip is tailored for specific building materials, specifically wall panels priced per square meter and boards priced per square foot. While it reads and displays all lines from a document, it only calculates landed costs for these recognized product families. Other items are shown with explanations for why a landed cost per unit is not provided, ensuring transparency in its operations. Regarding data privacy, Rateslip ensures that only the account that uploaded a document can access it. Storage is private, access is enforced at the database level, and no uploaded documents are used to train models. This commitment to privacy safeguards sensitive information and builds trust with users. As of now, Rateslip is in early access and is available at no cost. Users are informed that if pricing changes in the future, they will be notified before any charges are applied. This approach allows users to evaluate the tool's capabilities without immediate financial commitment. In summary, Rateslip offers a precise and transparent solution for calculating landed costs per unit in the construction and manufacturing industries. By focusing on the printed content of documents and maintaining strict data integrity and privacy standards, it provides purchase teams with reliable insights into their material costs, facilitating informed decision-making and effective cost management.
