## About Quartz-PCI
Quartz PCI is microscope image acquisition, processing, measurement, annotation, and reporting software built for laboratories running SEM, TEM, and light microscopy workflows. Developed by Quartz Imaging Corporation and used by thousands of researchers worldwide, PCI manages the full imaging pipeline from capture through long-term archiving in a single application, so labs are not stitching together separate tools for acquisition, measurement, and report writing. PCI is available in two configurations. PCI Lab installs on instrument PCs and handles direct image capture from SEMs, STEMs, TEMs, light microscopes, and TWAIN devices. PCI Office installs on standard workstations for offline processing, measurement, and annotation, using all the same tools without acquisition hardware. Core capabilities include image processing (contrast, sharpening, tilt correction, reverse raster rotation, anaglyph stereo construction), a full measurement toolkit (distance, angle, area, and shape measurement with results exported to a spreadsheet grid or Excel), an overlay-based annotation system that preserves the original image, and a built-in report editor that exports to PDF, Word, and PowerPoint. An included Workgroup Database tracks jobs, sessions, samples, and images for teams up to roughly ten users, with an Enterprise Database option and direct integration into Quartz LIMS for larger, multi-site organizations. PCI supports calibrated file import from major microscope manufacturers including JEOL, Zeiss, ThermoFisher, Hitachi, Gatan, and FEI, and performs SEM image sharpness measurement in accordance with ISO/TS 24597. The current release is PCI Version 12, sold by subscription with ongoing technical support and periodic updates included.
