## RatedPower Reviews
  ### 1. Intuitive, Fast, and Supportive for Easy PV Design

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Petros S. | Senior Design Engineer PV, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2025

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

I like RatedPower for its intuitive interface, which is quite easy to navigate. It's a quick and straightforward tool that allows me to prepare several documents like layouts, SLDS, and reports, even for colleagues without an engineering background, by following our guidelines. The technical support is great, and there's a continuous effort to further expand the features. It's very important for the development of our early stage plans to have an easy-to-use, fast tool that can quickly generate multiple designs and comparisons.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

The part of BESS is currently useful mostly for layout purposes and simple reporting. Different dispatch strategies, and multiple revenue models should be made available in order to perform a meaningful simulation and financial analysis. Currently for revenue calculation, we can only upload a file with energy price forecasts. We need to be able to simulate all available markets, besides day ahead, including intra day, ancillary services, capacity market, etc. BESS projects must participate in multiple revenue streams in order to be profitable.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use RatedPower for quick preliminary design of PV and BESS projects. It's intuitive, easy to use, even without engineering experience, and lets us quickly generate various designs and reports. Its continuous feature expansion and excellent support are crucial as the market evolves.

  ### 2. A powerful tool to generate fast screening and report for preliminary design of PV plants

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonino S. | Ingegnere elettrico, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2025

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

It's very easy to learn. With a few clicks you can generate layouts, single line diagrams and financial plans for utility scale PV plants. It also has a great customer support. The graphic output can be integrated into CAD software almost immediately.
The last updates allow the designer to simulate a 3D view and have an immediate evidence of the shadowing of the modules.
The layout editor now has new features implemented to tweak every aspect of the design. It is also possible now the editing of the bess layouts.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

Some features take time to master properly. It could be useful to use two different string inverter sizes, as you can do with a centralized inverter. The layout editor has been updated, but it still has a few bugs; for example, in some spots the streets are not on the ground and instead “float” above it (maybe because of the terrain topography?).

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can easily evaluate the power of a PV plant available for a site directly from Google Earth, importing a .kmz file or a .dxf layout. You can rapidly evaluate different solutions (fixed structures, tracker, string inverters, centralized inverters, power stations, cable routes, pv modules, etc.). The layout can also be edited under some aspects to optimize the plant design

**Official Response from Emilio García Sánchez:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience with RatedPower! We're thrilled to hear that you find our platform easy to learn and appreciate our customer support. Your feedback on mastering certain features and the limitations of the Layout Editor is valuable to us, and we'll work on improving these aspects.

We'll also explore the possibility of incorporating the option to use two different size string inverters. It's great to know that RatedPower is helping you efficiently evaluate different solutions for PV plants. If you have any more suggestions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out. We're here to help! Thanks for your trust in RatedPower and Enverus.

  ### 3. Fast Layout & PVC Output, but CAD/PVC Accuracy and PVsyst Import Issues Need Work

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shashikant y. | Engieering Manager(Solar + BESS)- India and Southeast Asia, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2026

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

It quickly generates the layout, BOM, SLD, etc., with minimal effort. It also generates the PVSC file, which is very useful for the PVsyst layout.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

There are multiple issues. First, the accuracy of the generated files (CAD, PVC, etc.) needs improvement. Second, sometimes RatedPower seems to use its own default inputs instead of the inputs provided by the user. Third, it does not take into account the shadowing of objects within the specified time window.

Also, when using the PVC file created by RatedPower and importing it into PVsyst, it generates an additional orientation that is different from what we have defined in PVsyst. Because of this, we have to delete one orientation. The problem is that the losses in both orientations are different, so the results change depending on which orientation is kept.

Finally, it lacks several inputs required for solar and BESS projects, and there is no customization available in the BOM and layout sections.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps solve problems during the pre-engineering stage, when speed is more important than accuracy.

  ### 4. Efficient Design Tool with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Soleman M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2026

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

I like that RatedPower can be quite quick to do multiple iterations of the design and provide comparisons in terms of different pitch and different panels. It's able to provide that fairly quickly with little learning curve. I also find it quite efficient in the early stage design, as it helps quickly understand the capacity of the selected land area and how many panels can be fitted. Additionally, the initial setup was fairly easy and quite quick, with the software being easy to learn as well.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

Areas that require improvement include the ability to have layers and functionality in terms of uploading shape files or KMZ files. It would be helpful to isolate or mark things more clearly instead of relying solely on drawing on the tool. Furthermore, once you get into more detailed design, it lacks features to handle specific requirements like identifying where cables are or locking an inverter to the locations, along with locking in some other features of the land and clearly labeling it.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RatedPower helps with early concept designs of solar farms, letting me quickly understand land capacity and panel allocation. It's efficient at this stage, making it easy to do quick iterations and comparisons without much learning curve.

  ### 5. Easy to Use but Improvements Needed for 3D

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julien G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2026

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

I like that RatedPower adapts well to needs, whether for a preliminary project or a detailed project. The recent additions, such as editable layouts and versioning, make the software really efficient. The fact that it is online is an advantage because it is easily shareable, allowing multiple people to work on the software and even for the less technical, to easily access the design, scheduling, layout, and structure, which are well done. In the prospecting or preliminary project phase, it is really very effective. The software has become very competitive with numerous additions and conferences that facilitate team learning. RatedPower is easy to use and implement in teams. It is fast, easily modifiable, and auditable. The principle of versions with history and validation is great, as is the ability to add notes. The sales teams are super efficient, attentive, and responsive. The webinars and events organized are also great, helping to connect people and going beyond just the software, which is very positive.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

There are some drawing tools missing, and sometimes modifying the terrain is a bit difficult. There is also slowness, especially for designs related to topography, and it's often necessary to restart the full simulation on large sites, which complicates things a bit. When I use RatedPower with AutoCAD, I have to download the layout each time, which is somewhat negative. The 3D does not always display very well when exported from AutoCAD, and the ability to export just the 3D of the modules to easily reproject them onto AutoCAD is lacking.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RatedPower adapts well to project needs, is easily shareable online, and simplifies access for less technical people. It is quick to use and implement within teams, and allows for easy learning thanks to a common database.
