Preply is a great platform to learn ANYTHING you want. It is a great chance for freelancers and a great opportunity for learners to feel out of the typical classrooms and learning in only one way. I used to study and work with them and it was great, I had classes 2-3 times a week of French or daily if possible, and it was great learning with a Native. I know they have app phone smart devices as well as their own website which made it super helpful and easy to use. Their customer service is very quickly, and I had promo codes to compensate bad experiences or refunds if it was necessary, so I highly appreciate that from them. It WORKS. Simply put, our goal of learning a new language is being reached! It's easy to use, very easy to schedule/reschedule, and offers a lot of options. The reporting dashboard is intuitive. initially it appears as a good looking website and service. However, Preply connected me with a tutor that could not speak English and hence teach me japanese for beginners. The tutor wrote down that she had technical difficulties and internet outage, which is not true. In any case, I asked for a refund which the tutor agreed but their customer service / customer support is HORRIBLE and unreachable. I would have expected at least a follow up email via the chat but it was completely unreachable

The customer service is horrible. They allow tutors to get you in at one rate and quickly double or triple your cost( within weeks in our case). We hired a tutor for an employee and he did not improve over the 6 months we used preplys tutor. He kept raising the price and doing it in a shady way by manipulating our student into cancelling/resubscribing at his new demanded cost..... then he typed up his own review in PERFECT english (which our employee did not have, hence the need for a tutor) and had him leave him a good tutor review. I find this HIGHLY unethical and reached out to preply about it and just got a talking head that just kept posting their policies and not actually addressing our complaint. I have really enjoyed being able to learn without the limits of time and space. I also teach on Preply and it has been a great source of income. It is reliable and has a great team behind it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The teachers are not always professionally trained teachers, but sometimes they are just native speakers.
