Pipephase multigas flow simulator, ideal for industrial processes, the best. **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** James G. | Engineering & Sustaining Manager, Schlumberger Production Technologies, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2021 **What do you like best about PIPEPHASE?** It has the best characteristics to simulate stationary processes, personally I use it to simulate pipes and pipe networks, since I am in the oil industry I use this software, it has a very manageable interface which allows creating new designs of networks of gas perfectly, allows metric calculations to be placed exactly. **What do you dislike about PIPEPHASE?** Nothing wrong with adding Pipephase works perfectly for what it has been designed for and so far they have delivered on what they promise. **Recommendations to others considering PIPEPHASE:** I recommend PipePhase for gas network designs, it provides the best features to design and calculate gas distribution systems in any environment. **What problems is PIPEPHASE solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have used Pipephase to create designs of domestic gas networks, developing computerized calculation modules to predict multiphase flow patterns, it is a very complete software that allows me through the design to improve the performance of the flow lines. In addition, with the simulated design we can make cost and capital estimates, both for new designs or to study possible redesigns. ### 4. I worked for a long time with this program and allowed me to analyze real cases and future cases, generating results that helped me to successfully solve the problem. **What do you dislike about PIPEPHASE?** I really do not have negative comments to the program, the important thing is to know how to manage the program and have knowledge of the subject to evaluate to achieve a realistic solution. **What problems is PIPEPHASE solving and how is that benefiting you?** Among the many cases evaluated, manage to analyze flow station and achieve scenarios that optimize the quality of the feeding of a cryogenic, as well as proposals for changes of diameters and new interconnections. ### 5. Pipephase allows for creating the most complex piping networks for oil and gas gathering and distribution. The sensitivity analysis are very precise, even though it uses steady state flowing. Pipephase is designed with a very simple graphic user interface that makes it easy to work with. It has great compatibility with other simsci softwares such as pro/II, and this allows complementing ProII’s industrial processes models with pipephase’s capability for calculating pressure drops and sensibility. **What do you dislike about PIPEPHASE?** There are three things I dislike about this software the first one is that as other simsci products it is really expensive. Second, the black oil modules that this software provides don’t align with lots of precission to extra heavy oil simulations (which is the most common type of oil in our country) and third, the fact that this software doesn’t come with a dynamic flow module limits the veracity of the results in our multiphase networks, since it doesn’t measure to the full extent the effect that flowing sand may have in the pipelines. **Recommendations to others considering PIPEPHASE:** For someone considering pipephase I can truly recommend it; it is an amazing complement for softwares for 3D reservoir modelling and for industrial processes modelling. Just keep in mind that the simulations rely on steady state flow, so in most complex multiphase simulations it might not be very precise, especially with heavy oil. **What problems is PIPEPHASE solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use pipephase for modelling multiphase pipeline systems in our oil industry.
