We can keep client budgets separate, set limits, and quickly check transactions when something looks off. It is also helpful that we can manage different currencies and payments from the same platform. That saves us from stitching together several different payment tools. **What do you dislike about PhotonPay?** There are a lot of features in the platform, which can make the interface feel a bit overwhelming at first. **Recommendations to others considering PhotonPay:** I think it makes the most sense for agencies or teams managing multiple ad accounts, clients, or currencies. I would recommend setting up a simple naming system for your cards from day one, especially if you plan to issue a lot of them. That makes it much easier to know which card belongs to which client or account. If you are constantly juggling ad spend across different accounts, it can save quite a bit of operational hassle. **What problems is PhotonPay solving and how is that benefiting you?** We manage a lot of Google and Meta ad accounts across different clients, and payments used to be a pain to keep organized. With PhotonPay, we can assign separate virtual cards to different clients or ad accounts instead of having everything run through the same few cards. It makes spend tracking and reconciliation much easier, and we have better visibility into who is spending what. We also spend less time moving money around or topping up cards during active campaigns. ### 2. Being able to collect in a buyer's own currency and hold that balance instead of converting immediately gives us real control over when we do FX, which matters a lot on thin margins. The corporate cards are the second thing worth mentioning — we issue them per team and per project, so ad spend and travel costs are separated at the source rather than sorted out afterwards. Having accounts, cards, FX and payouts in one platform means our controller is not reconciling four systems anymore. Support has also been responsive with a named contact rather than a ticket queue. **What do you dislike about PhotonPay?** The platform covers a lot of ground, so there was a learning curve in the first couple of weeks working out which module handled what, and we would have liked more onboarding documentation for finance users specifically. Compliance checks on new counterparties are fairly thorough, which occasionally slowed down a first payment to a new supplier — understandable given what they are handling, but worth planning for. We would also like more export format options in reporting. None of these have been blockers. **Recommendations to others considering PhotonPay:** Map out which currencies and markets you actually collect and pay in before you start, then set up your accounts and card structure around that from day one — it saves rework later. Involve whoever does your reconciliation early, because the biggest gain for us was on the finance operations side rather than the payments side. Have your entity and counterparty documents ready so compliance review goes quickly. Worth a look if you are running cross-border collections and payouts across several markets and currently doing it through multiple banks. **What problems is PhotonPay solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our business collects from buyers in several markets and pays suppliers in different currencies, and we used to run that through separate banking relationships. Opening an account in a new market took weeks, and every payout involved intermediary banks we had no visibility into.
