"A very light weight Browser/web based PostgerSQL DB tool"
4.5/5
What do you like best about pgAdmin?

The fact that its an open source browser based tool, has my best interest. its fast, light weight and super simple to use. Cool features like auto population of boiler plate scripts on deamnd saves a lot of Postgers Script development time on the long run. Pretty much happy with the performance and user friendly layouts/designs. Believe i am gonna stick to it for a while. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about pgAdmin?

The version i am using (4.earlies) , i could not find the support feature for Relational diagram like ER generation. had to switch to manual efforts with Visio for creating the design. i could see a couple of posts online for its support on Relational Diagram design but had a hard time actually getting it. May be newer versions have it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My company database successfully created as PgAdmin"
5/5
What do you like best about pgAdmin?

And robust software, it has several features and functions for all types of databases. I use vectors, data manipulation, scripts, tables and more without having to use lines of code, directly connected to postgreSQL. PgAdmin provides a graphical interface that is easy to create a database. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about pgAdmin?

Creates incompatibility with outdated versions, needs the need to keep the most current version. It generated a little complexity in the installation, guaranteed support (free software) and because it is very robust it becomes a little heavy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

6) Has good documentation and large community support

7) All administrative tools are available in the web gui

8) Allows import/export between multiple databases

9) Ease of installation

10) Creation of table, constraints directly from the gui Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about pgAdmin?

1) Cannot connect to amazon RDS due to a login compatibility issue

2) Crashes and at times uses too much of RAM

3) Not sure why they upgraded from pgAdmin 2 to pgAdmin 4 which is unstable and has a new layout. We all are habituated to version 2 of pgAdmin

4) Network has to be stable to work, it will not reconnect if you have any network issues.

5) To top it, if you looks your net, you will have to restart the complete application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"GUI provided allows to connect, disconnect, get query tool with ease of use."
5/5
What do you like best about pgAdmin?

The tools allow me to connect to a Postgres database with a good GUI, wherein I can see all database schema and can go down to different objects.

One of the good features is to download the data result of a query in a CSV file, which I use quite frequently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about pgAdmin?

1. The search of an object from a list of objects, it is not allowed right now. If the search has to be made in these cases, we need to scroll the complete list which is not user-friendly approach at all.

2. The tabs at the top of the query area are not detachable which occupies a lot of space.

3. Backup and Restore of databases are not user-friendly, better to use cmd prompt for the same. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

See new geometries with the map viewer, options to commit or rollback Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about pgAdmin?

Need of more auto populate SQL queries for example. The docking system still not working great. Perhaps implementation of the shapefile loader with pg Admin would be really great too Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great DB Tool"
4/5
What do you like best about pgAdmin?

pgAdmin is one of the simplest db tools to use. The interface is nice and clean, it's easy to find how to add connections, query tables, and view statistics on a customizable dashboard. You can also create custom dashboard statistics which is great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about pgAdmin?

It took some time to get setup running in our DC/OS cluster. Also, as far as I've found (I'm sure there's one if I read the user guide), there isn't an obvious keyboard shortcut (like ctrl/cmd + enter) to just run whatever query you're trying to test out - you have to click the run button. "Simple yet highly effective"
5/5
What do you like best about pgAdmin?

It does everything that oracle and sql server can do just without the stupidly priced license fee.

I use it on a AWS cloud DB and since starting to use it 6month ago I’m now looking to move away other DBs from oracle/sql server. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about pgAdmin?

Nothing really.

At first it can seem complex as there is many settings. However in their default position they work well and without issue Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
