PeoplePerHour (PPH) was the first platform where I found clients for remote work. So far, the clients I have worked with have been fair, provided clear instructions, appreciated the work delivered, and communicated professionally. One feature I find very helpful is the “Offers” system, which allows freelancers to showcase their services and set a fixed price without using the monthly bid quota (which is limited to 15 free bids). Additionally, when receiving an invitation from a client, submitting a proposal does not reduce the bid quota. Even when my profile was still new, I was able to receive invitations to submit proposals, which helped me start gaining projects on the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One downside of PeoplePerHour (PPH) is the limited number of free bids available each month, which can make it difficult for new freelancers to apply to many projects. Competition can also be quite high for certain categories, so it may take time to secure the first few projects. Sometimes clients may not respond after posting a job or inviting proposals, and in some cases buyers cancel projects after posting them, which can make the process a bit uncertain for freelancers.
