Its not magic. You still need to know what you are doing but, Parted Magic has re-partitioned and formatted drives that other programs just would not do. Instead of disposing of these "problem" drives, they have been going strong for years! We have had problems with drives that transition from LINUX to Windows or vice versa. Parted Magic was able to revive these drives for us. **What do you dislike about Parted Magic?** Being LINUX based, PArted Magic is not the most intuitive program. However, it does fit right in with the LINUX universe. **What problems is Parted Magic solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our imaging system boots into LINUX and then deploys a Windows system. Occasionally the partitions get corrupted - especially during a Windows upgrade. Parted Magic has been able to repair (actually remove and replace) the partition structure on many hard drives that the native LINUX and/or Windows tools were not able to do. While we have used Parted Magic for data destruction, that is not what we generally use it for. It is generally used for creating complex partition structures or re-sizing partitions on our hard drives. ### 2. I was almost in tears when I got the death screen because I was not thinking about the "what ifs" that could happen by not backing up my information on a regular basis. To be honest, it was the farthest thing from my mind. I love that the regular Joe Blow can use it without having to pay for an expensive IT guy. **What do you dislike about Parted Magic?** The updates have been slowing than needed in some instances but when they are dropped, the bug fixes are worth the wait. So I say get that update out as quickly as possible so that customers are sitting there with their thumb up their noses waiting on this to progress. If they are like me, time management is a huge factor because if I can't do it with one product, I'm moving on to something that can. **What problems is Parted Magic solving and how is that benefiting you?** They are solving a multitude of problems and issues for me. My dad was in computer repair and gifted me this product which has been a total lifesaver. I can back up my files, schedule when to back it up so I don't even have to think about it. If you have used MS DOS in the old days, you already know how to work it. I haven't tried partioning an external drive yet, but I have used the clone feature and have had really good success. I am able to have the files on all of my devices instead of just the one which helps when working remotely. ### 7.
