As an open-source platform, Pachyderm is available to a wide range of users and has a thriving community of developers who contribute to its growth and development. **What do you dislike about Pachyderm?** Pachyderm can present a challenge to some users, particularly those without experience in big data processing or container-based architecture. Despite integration with some widely used big data tools, Pachyderm's technology ecosystem is relatively limited compared to others, which may restrict its compatibility with some tools and technologies. **What problems is Pachyderm solving and how is that benefiting you?** Pachyderm's use of containers allows for computations to be easily expanded across multiple machines, making it efficient at processing big data. It works well with many well-known big data tools, making integration into existing systems and technologies smoother. Being open-source, Pachyderm is available to a lot of users and has a strong community of developers continuously improving and growing the platform. ### 2. Its key strength lies in tracking model lineage & version control that no other tool offers so seamlessly and in a simplified UI. It now offers model pipeline where you may run model experiments from a singular user interface. **What do you dislike about Pachyderm?** There must be a free-to-use subscription since community edition does not provides all of the functions as compared to the enterprise edition. The free-to-use edition must provide all the features in limited capability to evaluate the product and the enterprise edition must have unlimited access and runtime to all the features. Maybe in future, Pachyderm may design a single product stack that meets the requirements of end to end MLOps including model build, train, serve, deploy and monitor along with CI/CD pipelines. **What problems is Pachyderm solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use pachyderm in my MLOps track to maintain the lineage of production models for the AI pipeline. Roll back models as and when needed with built in version control. Models of different versions can be implemented using the model lineage functionality. We have deployed several use cases using the model lineage feature of Pachyderm. ### 3. Using lineage and provenance reasoning was more challenging because every label modification resulted in a new data commit. **What problems is Pachyderm solving and how is that benefiting you?** Pachyderm has saved me considerable time and money in data pipelines. It is easier and faster to manage ML lifecycle data activities to be operationalized. It enabled our data science teams to expand and automate their machine learning lifecycle while ensuring reproducibility. ### 4. There is a community but wish I had some chat options to get instance support from the product engineers. That would have been a great option! **What problems is Pachyderm solving and how is that benefiting you?** I was trying to learn how model pipeline works and how different model versions can co-exist with features of promoting or demoting a model to/from production. The interface is pretty easy to grasp the fundamentals of model pipeline and versioning. ### 5. This is one of the key ask for enterprises leveraging MLOps pipelines. The model pipeline is also one of a great feature that Pachyderm offers. **What do you dislike about Pachyderm?** The license aspect is something that needs to be looked into from a wider adoption point of view. It should also bring in features related to data catalog and enrich the observability for model performance and platform. I would also like to see the product being offered in marketplaces of major cloud providers for early and quick adoption to wider use base. **What problems is Pachyderm solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were trying to build a version controlled model pipeline and leverage the model lineage functionality for one of the customer PoC. The model version control was a key requirement that was well accomplished by Pachyderm. ### 6. Adapts on the change of data, cost effective, working on multiple language and platforms are some perks of pachyderm. **What do you dislike about Pachyderm?** Implementing is tough and can require skillset to properly use it. However, it's good for data driven parameters, having a data at first is difficult, so, not good for a majority of projects. **What problems is Pachyderm solving and how is that benefiting you?** Providing a pipeline for a majority of coding laguages, for an example python which is very beneficial for the project. Adpating with the data change will help in latest details with perfection. ### 7. For us, game changer was definitely auto trigger that allows for flexible adjustment based on data changes. **What do you dislike about Pachyderm?** We feel that the product is still in relatively young phase of development. There are definitely some of the features missing, especielly with more exotic languages, but I think that the product team know their staff and I'm sure (or hope) that backlog is being addressed **What problems is Pachyderm solving and how is that benefiting you?** As mentioned above, automated, fully data-driven environment for various data transformation with lineage and versioning. There are three main benefits in our organisation: more efficiency in development, shorter time to debug and ultimately reduction of cost. ### 8. Also, the use of native python support is just way too powerful and unique to this tool. **What do you dislike about Pachyderm?** Too much overhead in certain scenarios and overcomplicated for some infrastructures. And Since it's storage heavy for processing multiple versions of data, it is a big pain point from a financial perspective. **What problems is Pachyderm solving and how is that benefiting you?** It manages data transformation and is much more relaxing in computation overhead. It's best for incremental data processing as it is less computation-heavy. It is unrivaled in its feature set and provides the best data versioning and data storage patterns. ### 9.
