P&C Underwriting Risk Detection Reviews & Product Details

Shift Technology empowers Underwriters to stop more insurance fraud, correct policy misrepresentation, and accelerate the underwriting process. Shift applies Artificial Intelligence (AI) on applications and policies to uncover hidden risks, including misrepresentation, ghost broking, and agent manipulation. Shift's AI analysis is aligned to Underwriting decision points, with real-time, daily, and scheduled risk alerts, depending on the policy lifecycle. A key feature of Shift's AI approach is integration of first party insurance data with external data sources, ensuring a comprehensive picture of applicants and policyholders. Risk alerts are delivered to insurers via API or through Shift's Underwriting Investigation software. With either, the 100% explainable context of each Shift alert makes it clear for Underwriter's which anomalies across all data sets led to suspicion. The AI team at Shift includes over 200 data scientists and Underwriting experts, helping insurers go beyond the rules-based approach to Underwriting risk detection. That way, insurers can see the big picture through fraud trends and patterns, even if they’re unique to an insurer’s book of business and geographic footprint. The end result with Shift is better Underwriting decisions, and better policyholder experience.
